low stress, fair pay, good benefits, Union protection in terms of everyone gets treated the same which eliminates the good-ol-boy world that i came from in the semiconductor industry.

Cons

the biggest problem that i can see after only being their two years is the Union is more in-bed with management than the employees. the union doesn't seem to have any leadership in James P. Hoffa and it's quite evident that he only has is job because of name recognition. the Union recently held elections and there was no information readily available discerning the differences between the two candidates leading i believe less than 20% of tens of thousands to vote.

Pros

Health and welfare-very good benefits. Terminal used to be place of security and comradery. Weather in NM/Albuquerque is stellar making deliveries more easily accomplished. At one time, a good place to work.

Cons

Micromanaging, hostile, dishonest terminal manager--Albuquerque NM. Discontinued retirement and reduced wages was a great move for YRC, but a terrible move for the employees.

slow hiring process, pay cuts, unstable job, hours, days, the female area manager is very difficult to get along with. She slept her way to the top and if you want to keep your job she expects you to do the same.

Decent pay even though they cut 15% of it. Pay is still better than most OTR carriers. Free benefits for the whole family and they are good benefits. Home every night, relaxed work atmosphere, nice people.

Cons

Pay cut and pension freeze. Being on call until you get enough seniority for a bid run.
