Horrible upper management, communication, and treatment of employees

      Pros

My team/department was wonderful, but they let our entire department go without warning.

      Cons

Upper management keeps everything so close to the vest, you have no idea what's actually going on at the companies. It was very hard to plan and do my job properly when we didn't know the plans the organization had. Horrible communication from other departments, especially from the top down. Terminals are disgusting. They refuse to modernize and cut costs at all corners. VERY cheap. I was paid maybe 60% of my worth, the reason was "well that's just how it is here". They let our entire department go without warning. Upper management snuck around us and planned to get rid of us for months. If I called what they gave us severance, it'd be lies because of how little it was. They let 3 single mothers go, and two of them got ZERO weeks of pay. ZERO. The most anyone got was 4 weeks, and that was even for people who were with the company for over 30 years. It makes me sick thinking about it.

      Pros

Wonderful co-workers and a decent manager go a long way

      Cons

The opportunities for advancement are little to none, the first job opportunity since the glint servay that recognized there is no work life balance or advancement within the company required 18 hour availability 6 days a week. Corporate is a joke and upper management is untrustworthy and disorganized.

      Pros

Due to upper management Greed and multiple non-truths to workforce ,union and nonunion, upper management has created a unity among all of its employees and members! As far as a nice place to work, its nice to get along with the people you come in contact every-day!

      Cons

Well im sorry to say, most of the people, I myself come in contact with everyday consider the Teamsters to be a corrupt paper tiger that resembles nothing of what it was and what it needs to be! YRC upper management appears to be only interested in filling their own pockets and very deceptive on following through with agreements made with their hard working empl;oyees, that sacrificed to help the Powell and Roush legasys stay alive! Shame on you all!

      Pros

      Cons

Roadway Express was a great company. Upper Management sold out to Yellow and destroyed a good thing. Sad.

      Management Needs Leadership Skills

      Pros

Unfortunately, there weren't many pros to working at YRC Worldwide. It lacked leadership, management and management that took care of their employees. The dock workers were all great guys.

      Cons

Leadership, HR was a joke, the terminal manager seemed to expect union employees to constantly be battling upper management, union employees were constantly getting laid off, just to be brought back a couple of weeks later.

YRC Worldwide Class A CDL Driver

      Pros

The union hourly pay, health and retirement benefits are great.

      Cons

YRC is a big corporation and you will be treated just like another number even if you do a great job every day. This company is not working as a team between management and the union jobs. Upper management does not take care of lower level management positions or treat lower level managers very well.

The decline of a strong company of proud employees.

      Pros

The pay at YRC is not at the low end of the spectrum for LTL motor freight.

      Cons

Pay has been slashed for labor and management. Pension--frozen. 401(k)--zero company contribution for the past 5+ years. Health benefits--continual rise of employee costs. Job security--non-existent. Advancement opportunity--slim to none. Upper management does not communicate nor ask for employee input. Reviews have not been completed for several years. This company is continually on the verge of bankruptcy yet is able to add to its already top-heavy structure of more and more highly compensated upper management positions commonly filled by cronies of those in the top positions.

They waste all of their money!

      Pros

When it is good, it is really good. The flow of freight keeps you on your toes and keeps you wallet filled.

      Cons

Freight slowly decreasing, company falling apart. Very poor upper management. Sneeky back door deals and corrupt politics. They want the drivers to take pay cuts while the upper people still make millions! Heaven forbid they lose $100 a yr on budget cutbacks! The biggest con is there are non cdl qualified people that "tell you how to do your job"!
