I worked at Yahoo (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I very much enjoyed being part of the Yahoo! team working as a sales manager. The team was international and dynamic and the management very supportive. Although the job was pretty demanding with high goals in a fast changing environment, it was worth going the extra mile, not only due to the competitive salary packages.

    Cons

Career opportunities were quite limited in the Spanish office, so everyone who wanted to take their career to the next level, had to relocate at some point. The good part was that management was supportive in it.

    Advice to Management

As it happens with many companies, sometimes there was not enough communication on the management side. So my advice would be to listen more to employee´s needs and concerns in order to be able to act upon them.

    Cons

So many products being created and abandoned. Focus on core value?

    I worked at Yahoo full-time

    Pros

Did cool stuff and fostered a dynamic and hard working community. I also got to work in high energy groups that got work done efficiently

    Cons

I think the company needs to care more about their employees. They don't pay enough for the long overtime hours and stressful days

    Advice to Management

Care more about employees and pay them more. Listen to what more of them have to say. Also moving up in the company is kind of hard

    Cons

5 CEOs in 2 years, too many changes, team was a skeptical. Nothing worse than a talented team that's skeptical.

I worked at Yahoo full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits package and perks. Excellent offices and location.

    Cons

The company is in turmoil and keeps changing direction. Performance reviews are too frequent employees are forced to be competitive with each other which doesn't allow for collaboration or a good atomosphere.
