    Pros

    Working with my PI at the Yale School of Medicine has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life so far; I went from knowing nothing about how science truly works to being able to conduct my own experiments, all over the course of a single summer.

    Cons

    Sometimes the environment feels a bit isolated.

    Pros

    Yale is an awesome place with awesome people and awesome events. Yale Health is an excellent & affordable health insurance option. New Haven is very livable; Yale Shuttle is free public transportation that gets you all around town 24/7. If you work in a lab, you often have very flexible hours and job description.

    Cons

    It pays peanuts. Retirement matching exists, but only kicks in after one or two years of employment.
