I have been working at Yandex part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great specialists, some unique technologies to work with, like YT. Nice perks and office.

    Cons

See advice to Management. There are some projects that compete with each other AND some well-known and popular solutions, and that leads to disambiguation on what tools should you use. Sometimes you just don't know what is "the way we do X" because there are several ways each having some support from devtools huys, and nobody knows which support will be dropped in future and which will not.

    Advice to Management

The management is sometimes vague: they will focus on optimizing some one metric (KPI-obsessed, yeah) in this half-year, and then drop it and focus on something opposite in the next review period. The tradeoff is not always articulated nicely.

    Pros

Great environment, a lot to learn, a lot of great professionals around. Great technologies, great products, open-minded culture. Good start for a career.

    Advice to Management

Make promotion opportunities more clear. Keep desicion making transparent and company meetings honest. Top management should be very respectful to everyone in the company. No silly jokes etc.

    Pros

-Opportunity to work part-time with no hurt to studying
