I worked at Yankee Candle part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Sometimes we got to try out new products and got free candles. It was an okay first job. My managers were very flexible around my school schedule and etc.

    Cons

I had to follow Customers around the store and ask a lot of annoying questions. Had to worry about secret shoppers and had to follow a script to make sure we asked the customer enough questions

    Advice to Management

Less script questions, feels like youre chasing down the customer with questions

I worked at Yankee Candle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great product, and friendly regular customers. Easiest retail job I ever had!!

    Cons

Benefits are not good. They will pay you nothing if you allow it. Payroll is minimal. You are often there alone for hours at a time.

    Advice to Management

Don't sell yourself short. They can afford you if you're good. Ask for what you want.

I have been working at Yankee Candle part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I moved up from sales associate to seasonal second assistant manager to permanent second assistant manager. When the assistant manager left, I had an opportunity to move up but wasn't personally ready. I get a lot of hours because I work hard and my boss knows I can quickly complete tasks and sell very well.

    Cons

Completely depends on the manager you have.
    VERYYYY corporate.
I do the tasks of the assistant manager and store manager at times.
    A lot expected of me.
    Underpaid.
Sales associates get 5-10 hours a week.
Floor plans cause need to stay as late as 3 am sometimes.
This all gets tiring after a year.

    Advice to Management

It's the little men that count and make everything run well!
