Good benefits, hours, work environment. Good amount of days off. Upper management are very nice and treat everyone as equals. Good structure.

I worked at Yardi Systems full-time

    Pros

Great management, very little hierarchy, nice people, good benefits

    Cons

Low-ish salary, one owner (no ownership sharing at all), one true decision maker (who luckily is an awesome person).

    Advice to Management

Allow people to grow, and pay them for it.

I have been working at Yardi Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - If you're lucky, you get to work with a great management, including VP's. These people can be mentors and friends.
    - Benefits are great; fully paid HMO, dental; small fee for vision; fun perks like company events and gift cards for job well done
    - Opportunities to advance or switch teams are there, but they're slow in coming and stuck in bureaucracy

    Cons

    - wages not commensurate with experience or responsibilities which leads to high turnover
    - Bureaucratic
    - Perception is that promotions are based on brown-nosing rather than actual competency in some instances
    - when employees are given additional responsibilities, basically making them do two people's jobs, a raise should be involved. There shouldn't be a nearly year-long delay.

    Advice to Management

-Pay your employees what they're worth. A supervisor in charge of a large group of employees should not be making less than an account manager fresh out of college.
    - Listen to your employees; don't be afraid of new ideas; they're doing the frontline work to support clients everyday
    - don't be afraid to let bad employees go. Parental status shouldn't be a factor in retaining toxic employees. It sounds mean, but it's not. One bad apple spoils the bunch.

I have been working at Yardi Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Yardi is really one of the best companies I've ever worked for. You have a lot of autonomy to do your job well, and I think managers are motivational. Definitely need to be resilient and adaptable to change - it's software, if we're not innovating or changing our products then we won't do well. Great environment for someone who seeks a fast-paced environment and wants to work with clients.

    Cons

With any location that's not in corporate, I wish we had some of the perks that they have in Santa Barbara. We do fun things around our office, but seems like SB is where it's at. Medical coverage is great and benefits are pretty good - their 401k needs some work. Would like to see a pay increase across the board, even just at 4-5%

    Advice to Management

Reassess market value for people in software positions

We’re so glad you are enjoying the great culture and environment in the Santa Ana office. It look like in May the office had a very fun Cinco de Mayo Potluck Luncheon and gets bimonthly fruit... More

I have been working at Yardi Systems full-time

    Pros

Excellent healthcare (100% covered except for eye-care, which is about $10 a month), lax company culture, good work-life balance (for the most part), growth opportunity, endless resources to learn. Rather than a cut-throat environment, it truly is a little work family where leaders want to see you succeed.

    Cons

Salary could be higher, very strict (some offices more than others) on working remote, shifts in management occur every few months it seems

    Advice to Management

Open up more opportunities to work from home for non-associates. I understand for the most part, it's helpful to be in the office and for the most part, people generally prefer it because we are pretty social people. But the ability to work from home once a week, or to just have that trust to gauge when it may be best, would go a long way.
