I worked at Yellow Pages full-time

    Pros

    Great colleagues, flexible work schedule.

    Cons

Since operates in very old-fashioned methods. Not open to innovative ideas and very slow to change. Doesn't leverage the talent to take advantage of fresh perspectives on products & processes.

    Pros

The people who work there are really nice, and the benefits are good. You also don't have to worry about work outside of working hours, which is pretty great.

    Cons

You're not rewarded for working hard or for doing great work, and you aren't punished for slacking off. As a result, there's a huge disparity in work ethic and productivity, but not in salary.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be more of an incentive to work hard.

I worked at Yellow Pages full-time

    Pros

Comfortable working conditions; comparable benefits; casual dress; flexible start-times.

    Cons

Somewhat disconnected with company culture since main offices are in Canada; not a lot of upward mobility; pay is decent, but on the lower end for designers.

I have been working at Yellow Pages full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Relaxed, Friendly Workplace
    Casual Dress
    Flex Time Available
    Ability to Move Between Departments
Ability to Work on Special Projects Occasionally

    Cons

Occasional Overtime to Manage Queues (Usually 4 Per Week)
Declining Print Profits, Increasing Digital Presence for YP
U.S. Employees Receive Fewer Holidays (9) Than Canadian Counterparts (12)
Little to No Raise Depending On Production Numbers
    Outdated Design Programs (CS4 Suite)

    Advice to Management

Several employees don't feel it'd matter to give feedback. Management gives the impression that they are concerned, but I haven't seen much in the way of change during my time there. Hire more employees instead of relying on current employees to work 2 straight months of overtime. It wears on the work/home life balance.

I have been working at Yellow Pages full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Vacation and personal time is good. Sick time is excellent. It's not limited to 5 days per year which is very helpful if you have a chronic illness.

    Cons

My department requires a college degree but pay isn't commensurate for a college graduate. Not much opportunity for advancement. Training is inconsistent. Environment and expectations are of an assembly line. Emphasis is focused more on numbers than on quality. I never thought I would have a job with a production quota.

    Advice to Management

Show the employees who consistently complete efficient quality work they are appreciated, give them raises. When new employees are hired at a higher standard starting pay; make sure that existing employees' pay is not less than the new standard.

I have been working at Yellow Pages full-time

    Pros

Fun, young culture - bake sales, major sporting events (Olympics) on office TVs, etc.
Great work-life balance - no pressure to take the job home, very flexible schedules

    Cons

The company will allow you to move between departments, but aside from "Senior" positions (relatively same job, minor pay increase), there is very little room to move up in this company. The pay scale is minimal at best.
