    Pros

Fun to spend time with students and encourage participation among everyone. Events were nice to run.

I worked at York University (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people, interesing challenges....usually. The key is to always communicate expectations to not get bogged down into roles or goals you can't complete.

    Cons

Can get very political, and the politics can get down right nasty. Need to do a better job of making the campus grounds a fun place to be year round.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your students and lower level staff. They may not always have the answers or express them well, but they are being far more impacted by your policies than anyone else.

I have been working at York University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good wages, good hours, you get to meet students that are like minded and want to work.
They understand you have school and are flexible with that.

    Cons

Management can be poor. There is such a long ladder of people you need to get through to get an answer or to get something approved.

I worked at York University (More than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity to interact and share ideas with both students and professors. Good teaching experience. Allows flexibility and control over teaching methods.
    Good pay.

    Cons

    Hours not flexible.
No opportunity for full time hours.
Classes are assigned to you, therefore you may end up teaching a class that you do not enjoy or are not the best suited.

    Advice to Management

Management does a decent job in the beginning of the year to go over expectations, etc,...however, possibly holding a monthly meeting for TA's would be beneficial.
