I have been working at Young Harris College full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, nice time off, beautiful area

    Cons

Old fashioned, stuck in their ways, negativity abounds. Mostly my current coworkers, but there is an unwillingness to do anything about it.

    Advice to Management

Break walls! Try new things and take risks.

I worked at Young Harris College full-time

    Pros

Great coworkers, Beautiful Campus, gym on site, good events and sports, dining hall and "fringe" benefits are abundant.

    Cons

Very small town. Lots of good-old-boy politics. Hard work is not rewarded well. Staff and faculty are completely different pay scales. Pay is very bad for staff. Benefits are good, but worse for younger/new workers and more favored towards workers who have been here for a long time.

    Advice to Management

Spend considerable time reviewing your employee retention policies or the college will continue to be a revolving door of talent. You get good people, and they leave for the same reasons your students leave. Now that the college is the size you need you should concentrate on making it the quality you need by spending the time and money on people instead of facilities.

I worked at Young Harris College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a small college, so you get to know everyone. It is like a family or community style college. It is a four year private liberal arts institution.

    Cons

It is up in North Georgia so it is a small town type place.

I worked at Young Harris College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful scenery and a very homely campus. Everyone is extremely friendly and cost of living is extremely cheap. Leadership of the college is good, a lot of stuff going on from facilities being built to adding majors.

    Cons

Small area, no major thoroughfares, not a lot of young professionals in the area.
