    Pros

Supportive of their people, still doing good work in different areas, great place to start

    Cons

Mgt,, both financial and creative, had high turnover for at least the first decade of the 21st century. Uneven output — If the client is smart, the work is smart. If the client is dumb ...

    Advice to Management

Reach down the organization table to find the bright comers.

I have been working at Young & Rubicam full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work culture! Worked in major cities before, and this is the perfect, laid back culture that will make every person envious of your job

    Cons

For a major ad agency, pay is not as competitive as it should be. Salaries are not that much more than the small shops around the area

I worked at Young & Rubicam as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Y&R provides hands on experience during the internship to get to understand their roles, interns get to see how the different roles in advertising work together and what they do, and there are great supervisors

    Cons

The lack of communication and guidance sometimes can be frustrating, if a simple intro guide to the building and directories could be provided at the beginning

I worked at Young & Rubicam (Less than a year)

    Pros

I made some of my closest friends at this agency. The people will go above and beyond to help each other if there is a problem—which there RARELY is because Y&R has really strong inter-department communication and they hire smart people. Office at 3CC is beautiful with outdoor terraces. Cafe is BOMB and has salad 3x a week, pizza on Wednesdays, etc.

    Cons

Notoriously low paying, half my salary went to the cafe. It would also be to their benefit to become more digitally-savvy.

    Advice to Management

The price tag associated with working with Y&R seems to deter a lot of potential clients. Maybe tweak your pricing for your services and you'll attract more new business.

I worked at Young & Rubicam (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people. Good location. Reasonable account and creative resources for client workload.

    Cons

Not a ton of new biz coming back in 2010/2011, so advancement and/or movement, at the time, was tough.

I have been working at Young & Rubicam as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great learning experience. A lot to learn. It is a big agency, and it helps to intern to learn how things done within a big agency

    Cons

Most interns cannot stay. They do not hire many interns. They prefer to have 'cheap labor"

    Advice to Management

a bit of old school. I think Y&R should have more opportunities for the younger generation.
