I have been working at Young's Market Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Union job, great benefits, set hours, lots of opportunity to earn bonuses, plenty of room for upward mobility whether you want to go into sales, management, etc. Company just merged with RNDC, so basically quadrupled in size. Fun atmosphere for company meetings. It's a liquor distributor, after all.

    Cons

New supplier programs that are constantly changing. Lots of suppliers to keep happy. Working large orders at certain accounts can be physically taxing on your body. Overall, nothing much to complain about.

I worked at Young's Market Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

No longer working there due to merger related redundancies, but Young's was a good place to work regardless. Sales teams were friendly and work pretty well with our team, and the wide variety of job requests kept things interesting. During holidays, workloads could get pretty heavy, but in general, work/life balance was reasonable. Pay was commensurate (leaning toward generous) with the job description, and work/life balance was reasonable. In the end, I had the opportunity to with some truly fine people who were all about working as a team and sharing their unique skills to make us all better at what we did.

    Cons

During holidays, workloads would get pretty heavy, Medical benefits weren't anything to write home about, regular shifting in the sales organization led to confusion in other divisions.

I have been working at Young's Market Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Opportunity to travel and learn about wine & spirits as long as you are self motivated. Meet great people, most people in the field are good humored and have a passion for the industry. Fun environment to learn sales as long as you can find a work life balance

    Cons

Very top down management style. Management needs more training, there tends to be a lot of protecting at the top level.

I have been working at Young's Market Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Smart people, collaborative, fair, on-the-job training, solid business practices, flexible, tenacious people with high integrity.

    Cons

Because it's a sales organization, if you aren't winning - you're losing. Good sales = good money. Poor sales, whatever the reason = lower money.

I have been working at Young's Market Company

    Pros

Many opportunities for growth if you are patient. Pay is better than most other distributors.

    Cons

The company culture has degraded over the past four years, it is not the positive environment that it once was.
