I have been working at Ysleta Independent School District full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Stable Pay; summers and holidays off

    Cons

interaction with parents; interaction with immature students; too much professional development; wastefulness of taxpayer money

    Advice to Management

Allocation of resources is not done wisely. If there are 30 high school football teams in a town and they all play each other most every week, why do we need 30 stadiums if 15 will sit empty? why do games need to be played at night and rack up a huge electric bill when they could be played Saturday morning or Saturday afternoon?

I have been working at Ysleta Independent School District full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Students are hardworking and inspire you to want to learn more and they are very appreciative of our work and dedication to them.

    Cons

Most families unfortunately do not support teachers or their own children in many cases. As teachers we have to spend a lot of our own personal salary to make it work for our programs. Parents don't want to spend a single dime on their children's education.

    Advice to Management

Have more meetings with parents to discuss behavioral issues, ways to fundraise for their kids extra curricular activities and discuss ways to be more involved in their children's education.

    Pros

Enjoyed the activities available for both students and teachers. There was always something going on to get parents and families involved.

    Cons

Did not feel I had the proper support from my Admin or District. Felt like I was viewed as the bottom of the food chain. Some bullying by fellow teachers as well.
