I worked at Yuanta Securities (Less than a year)

    Pros

The investment banking division had several teams within the group, with the multiple teams working together on various projects. The interaction with other team members was great.

    Cons

Because of the culture, not much responsibility was given to interns. Interns have to be very proactive in finding meaningful work or else they will only sit at their desks staring at the monitor all day.

    Advice to Management

The team dynamics are great. Only advice would be to have a better structured intern system with improved training sessions and a more structured mentorship program.

I worked at Yuanta Securities (More than a year)

    Pros

You can maybe find some entry level job in this company, the job of VC like this in Taiwan is very rare.

    Cons

The culture is too conservative to accept the new tech, and VCs business model in Taiwan are tend to PE, which likes to invest the C or pre-IPO round.

    Advice to Management

I think VC should be more liberal and accept the brand new tech, not just see the traditional industry.

    Pros

Providing customers with precise data and sound plan to invest in mutual funds, Stock, Bonds and so on to seek after the best profit.

    Cons

Frequent meeting and consecutive fund raising weighs on employee heavily, which causes very often the shift of the employee and increase the difficulty in hiring new comers.

    Advice to Management

Should pursue after the ultimate benefit for the customers, not just take the intensive fund raising as a measure to increase its scale. Go for the best margin with efficiency should be the company's principle to maintain the market share

    Pros

The colleagues here are pretty nice. And less inner competition between associates. You can make friends here. The boss is willing to let associates have their own coverage.

    Cons

In the equity research team, the working hour is long (12hrs in low season while 15+hrs in peak season). The payment is way lower than fini sell side in Taiwan.
