I have been working at Yum! full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with! Casual environment and you can wear jeans daily. Treated like adults, people trust you to get your work done. Good work/life balance.

    Cons

Runs slim, so you have multiple responsibilities. Not a lot of opportunities for advancement unless you have a very traditional career path.

    Advice to Management

HR has no real presence and coaches need coaching.

I worked at Yum! part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Employees and store managers I worked with were fantastic, easy-going, competent, and made it an enjoyable experience. Working as a cashier was a fun job that helped provide more than enough compensation for me at the time. There were good systems in place for conflict resolution and excellence/dealing with secret shoppers or inspections.

    Cons

The store I worked in was permanently under-staffed due to questionable forecasting/advice that can be traced back to a combination of the store's general manager and the regional manager. We often had lunch or dinner rushes with only 3 or 4 people on shift, which led to large customer wait times and complaints.

I have been working at Yum! full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great culture and benefits (four weeks vacation at hire, long maternity leave, good pay).

    Cons

Continue to push employees to do more with less as the more experienced employees are consistently retired/laid off and an increasing gap between levels. New benefits (vacation, maternity, two-weeks vacation in 10th year) are clearly aimed at new hires and millenials while the seasoned employees are ignored.

    Advice to Management

It does not go unnoticed that only certain people are promoted and there are fewer opportunities for movement than in the past.

    Pros

    Cons

Typical large company mentality where no one is accountable for the success or failure of a project, which can allow for mediocre people to hide amongst the ranks

    Advice to Management

    Focu and consistentcy

    Pros

Great culture and excellent work life balance. They offer an excellent benefit package and plenty of work and projects going on to advance your career and to develop new skill sets.

    Cons

Very political at times and moving up can be difficult in certain departments or functions of the business.
