    Pros

Flexible time off, work from home, laid back atmosphere, great sr. leadership, always keeping you abreast of what the company is doing. Lots of tenured employees. No one breathing down your back. Work hard/play hard.

    Cons

Too many people are in positions because of whom they know, NOT what they know nor what type of education they have. Most of the tenured employees come from the restaurantsand are in high positions and do NOT have a college degree, while individuals with college degrees and higher are in lower positions and it's obvious it doesn't matter. In addition, there is no diversity in management, everyone looks alike.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting people just because you know them. Give the people that actually qualify for the positions an equal opportunity.

I have been working at Yum! full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great brands, very proud to work for YUM. Always trying to find ways to make the work easier for their employees and delight customers. Have found ways to reward employees down to the front line team members. Give the stores and ARLs access to funds to recognize the teams even for simple things done well.

    Cons

Almost all of the Senior management is men. Reflective of the entire industry and an older Franchise driven community also dominated by men, but wish that YUM would take a stronger stand to help more women leaders emerge.

    Advice to Management

Quit reorganizing the field every year- look for ways to mentor and develop a more diverse leadership team to include more minorities and women.

    Pros

Belief in People! Employees are given the tools and autonomy to do their job. People are encouraged to take risks. There is some movement towards work/life balance.

    Cons

Some areas of the company are not given the overall respect for their contributions.

    Advice to Management

Ensure all areas are given equal respect for their contributions. Althought operations and marketing drive our core business, remember all functions serve a purpose and deliver results helping YUM achieve excellent EPS.
