I worked at Yum! full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My group was nice but Taco Bell folks that had been there a while treated me like I was dirt.

    Cons

Couldn't afford to stay.. Asked what I needed but didn't offer me any more $. Then offered a temp who needed training more to take my position.

    Advice to Management

    Pay employees better

I have been working at Yum! full-time

    Pros

Fantastic culture, work-life balance. Managers lead with heart and think through employee career paths. Even if that means managing people out; they're conscious of where people should be going and push in that direction.

    Cons

Ambiguous. Small corporate offices in most locations so structured career paths not well structured.

I worked at Yum! full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great culture, great career advancement if at the right level, cares about your health and well-being offering gym and exercise classes

    Cons

Once you are brought on board as a certain level it is very hard to advance your career path, whether you are qualified or not. Too many re-orgs throughout the organization, people barely get set in their current position and they are doing re-orgs eliminating positions.

Former Employee - Delivery Driver - Pizza Hut in Phoenix, AZ

    Pros

good part time work, with the ability to make above average money for part-time employment

    Cons

Yum!, the parent company(franchizee in Phoenix) does not care about the employees and takes advantage of current financial and political climates. The pay was horrible and the company continually tried to reduce driver pay to one of a waiter, which they finally did and I quit.

    Advice to Management

You can put a smile on everything and talk a nice game, but if you continually take action to get your employees to do more and more work for the same or less pay, your going to eventually lose the good employees and turnover will keep turning over.

I have been working at Yum! full-time

    Pros

Takes care of it's employees, and goes out of its way to create unmatched experiences for it's people.

    Cons

Compensation is industry averages, but the work life balance and culture make up for it to a degree.

I have been working at Yum! full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay is very competitive, good office environment and culture, great people, travel internationally and domestically, flexible hours and work/life balance is great

    Cons

Can be extremely bureaucratic; the company invests a lot in you as long as you're one of its shining stars, otherwise be prepared to get more or less nothing; very little patience for work to be done well, care more about work being done quickly

    Advice to Management

Chill a little with the ADHD mentality - apply speed where it's appropriate and gives us an advantage, but things that require more time to tease out real value shouldn't be rushed.

I have been working at Yum! full-time

    Pros

Yum has a fantastic culture that really emphasizes the greatness in people.

    Cons

Sometimes, we focus too much on whether somebody is a "culture fit" without recognizing how they may add value differently.

    Advice to Management

Really focus on the difference between activity and action; there is an incredibly wide range of definitions associated with a key cultural tenet.
