    Pros

Z Living has an experienced team that's dedicated to the network's success. Z Living is a great place to learn about all aspects of how a network operates from distribution, sales, creative services, management, programming, digital and international marketing.

    Cons

Challenges associated with a new network entering into a competitive marketplace.

    Advice to Management

Value the experience, knowledge and skillset of your team.

      Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Z Living full-time for more than a year

      Pros

They were smart to hire people who had extensive knowledge of the TV landscape.

      Cons

They were not smart to think you can build a network overnight. Unrealistic revenue goals given the fact that not one sales team (because they’ve fired many) was ever given the proper tools to sell the network successfully - no distribution, never a consistent strategy, listening to the advice of vendors who can’t run their own business, etc.

      Advice to Management

LEARN about the industry you’re trying to make a name for yourself in. It was apparent everyday that nobody knew what they were doing and it cost people their livelihoods.

I worked at Z Living for less than a year

      Pros

A paycheck, if you can get it.

      Cons

Hostile, disruptive work environment, backstabbing employees, mid-level management that will lie to your face and then throw you under the bus by lying to upper management about you. Senior management creates and fosters a toxic work environment and is actually known in the television industry for contributing to the failure of previous networks they have managed.

      I worked at Z Living

      Pros

The office in Hollywood is nice. The job itself is relatively low-stress. The staff is friendly and welcoming. It's a relaxed atmosphere. The hours are a solid 9-5, though management tends to come in late and leave early, if they come in at all, which gives it an even more comfortable feel.

      Cons

Despite the parent company's success in Asia, they have a lack of experience and understanding of the American television industry and business practice in general. There is no clear direction, it changes every day. Staff rarely knows what the future holds. Executives from India are rarely in the office and don't offer any insight to corporate goals. There isn't really any room for advancement. The company simply isn't...

      Advice to Management

Pay your bills. Arguing about what should be done and how much it should costs happens BEFORE, not AFTER. Once the job is done, the bill is due. Pay it in full and on time. You cannot simultaneously boast about the size of your global company... and cry poor when bills are due. It's embarrassing, unprofessional, unethical, and in some cases illegal.

      No opinion of CEO

I worked at Z Living full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Located in the center of Hollywood, CA. A network dedicated in promoting health and fitness. Has tv shows that encourages better eating, yoga, and self awareness/appreciation. Great coworkers and generally straight forward work.

      Cons

Do not work here as a freelancer. Will never get paid on time and the financial office in NJ always has an excuse for their lateness. This place should really be looked at by the Department of Labor. It's ridiculous.

      Advice to Management

Value your employees, both salaried and freelancers. Want to make your employees "happy?" Pay them on time or you'll constantly have a constant turn over.

      Advice to Management

Develop a keen understanding of the contention creation process before you try to undercut your writers.

      I worked at Z Living

      Pros

It's centrally located in Hollywood. Nice co-workers.

      Cons

Management is clueless. They have no idea how to increase website traffic. Unrealistic goals are set so employees can't make them, and so they can be fired. Numerous backward systems in place to take care of the simplest functions, that make the workday impossible.

      Advice to Management

Fire everyone from the top and start from scratch. Maybe you'll get it right this time.
