    Pros

Good pay, opportunity to travel, and easy lateral move

    Cons

Poor leadership in Executive positions. Most leaders of the company are terrified of Essilor and do not see the product of Zeiss has to offer.

Sales staff is stuck in the past. Operations has no clue how to please customer

    Advice to Management

Get over the SOLA days, those are long gone. Zeiss has the Mercedes Benz of optics compared to the competition of Ford and Dodge. Have faith in your sales teams and labs!!

    Pros

Good place if you want to learn new stuff and if you work for dynamic , innovative Manager.

    Cons

Still has age old complex processes and people stuck with old mentality , resistance for Change. Think Digital

    Advice to Management

think like a Pioneers, break the so called Mgmt hierarchy. One Size does not fit all.

    Pros

Essentially get to run your own business. I feel like my manager Tim truly cares about my success and doesn't micromanage. Un capped commission, car allowance, and room for growth.

    Cons

No cons with company, but wish I would have negotiated my salary better with my recruiter. But I'm still so very happy to work here!

    Pros

Great work environment and co-workers! Was with my company for26 years. Zeiss brought up all these optical labs on the east coast and drove them into the ground! They closed the doors on all of the companies they brought up, leaving a lot of people unemployed.

    Cons

After working for a great company for so long, they (Zeiss Group), came in and destroyed it!!

    Advice to Management

They need to manage better and not ruin great companies!!!

    Pros

Incredibly flexible hours. You get to work directly with researchers every day, helping them solve problems with Zeiss products. The products really are great and the company regularly innovates. Every year expect some new product to be released.

Because the organization is so flat, you are visible at all levels.

    Cons

Great experience personally and not many cons from my experience. Others complained about the lack of communication with upper/middle management and the unreasonable sales goals. There will be pressure to sell, but that really amounts to simply keeping good customer relationships and competing!

it's an incredibly flat organization (you - manager - president), so don't expect to "move up", and the tenure of competent performers is probably 5+ years.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with the field better. The worst is when there is silence and the field is left to speculate on its own.
