I have been working at ZF TRW full-time

    Pros

Nice new building, decent pay and some decent benefits, interesting projects.

    Cons

Medical benefits are terrible, must be politically motivated to advance, an entrenched bureaucracy environment, engineering predominantly driven out of Europe, high turnover.

    Advice to Management

You are advancing the wrong people for the wrong reasons. Engineering is by design and done by engineers and not by management committee or by dictators with the power to force things through.

I worked at ZF TRW full-time

    Pros

Big company and highly technical processes. Lots of young engineers and professionals, highly skilled. Plenty of opportunities to grow within the company. I still keep in touch with old coworkers.

    Cons

Getting from I385 to the plant is a pain. Adding a dedicated ZF access road would be ideal.

    Advice to Management

    None at this time

    Pros

    Co-workers, management, flexible work schedules

    Cons

HR, HR, HR. Hires their friends and friends kids. Everything is about politics and HR is king which is going to drive the morale into the ground.

    Advice to Management

Get new HR in office with a better attitude. Understand the importance of not hiring all of your high school friends like HR does. Make it a workplace and eliminate politics

    Knowledgeable employees.

    Cons

Lacks training structure. Not necessarily bad, but you have to hit the ground running.

I have been working at ZF TRW full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Most of the people are great to work with and very down to earth. Very busy all the time, so never boring.

    Cons

Medical plan has a very high deductible ($3600 out of pocket deductible for a family before insurance pays anything).
Staffing is insufficient to be proactive with new programs. Always fighting fires.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to who is working hard and who's not. Take action with the 2-3 employees that feel they only need to work 4 hours a day while the rest are working 10 -12.

I have been working at ZF TRW full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Potential of working with new products and markets
    Highly qualified and talented colleagues
    Great Location to work in

    Cons

    Lacking leadership
Non existent HR support for employees
    Disorganized top management
Lack of unified direction from Germany
    Sub standard working conditions

    Advice to Management

Improve HR, the current standard to employee treatment are one of the reasons for a high turnover rate
Retain qualified employees by opening up promotion to employees outside Germany
Hire based on qualifications not purely references
Improve working conditions - offices where it rains inside during a storm outside is not a the least bit encouraging

Current Employee - Machine Operator in Marshall, IL

I have been working at ZF TRW full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy job, laid back people, very enjoyable mostly, good insurance.

    Cons

No to very little work and very little overtime. Wages are kinda low. The company can't keep parts coming in. Not a day goes by that we don;t run out of parts.

    Advice to Management

They need to clean house on the current management and hire someone who can really get this place going again. They also need to find suppliers to keep parts coming in on time so they don't lose customers or find someplace to make their own parts that they run out of often.

    Pros

As much overtime as you could want. Allot of experienced operators with 20 + years of experience. Some very intelligent management that you can learn from.

    Cons

Very disorganized projects. Very ignorant upper management. Finding out you will have to work overtime minutes before your shift was over.

    Advice to Management

Be more organized and plan better . Put more experienced managers into place.
