    Pros

A few nice people scattered about.

    Cons

ZF TRW Global Body Controls Division has a real arrogant and condescending leadership structure starting at the top down through the top level of sales.
Lack of technology, and vision from top management, who believe they are brilliant and clever, but in fact have done nothing to secure the future of the company.
No respect for the customer, as they are only focused on short term gains and not long term partnerships. They are an anchor to ZF TRW. Just do a google search and you will find out all you need to know about this division.
The work/life balance....not here!! Keep looking!!

    Advice to Management

Your reputation follows you, and word travels fast. I would suggest you take some personality classes. Respect your employees lives, even though you may think work is better than having a family.

I have been working at ZF TRW full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Interesting product line with a mix of driver interface switches and devices, global business with sites in North America, Europe, South America, and China.

    Cons

BCS is driven only by financial numbers and a ruthless desire to put profit ahead of people. The management team will not add the needed resources, so many people are working 10-12 + hour days on a regular basis and still falling farther and farther behind. BCS posted record profits in 2016 - the highest of any division in ZF -, but resources are not added and employees are not rewarded for their contributions. Only a small percentage are awarded the performance ratings needed to get the highest raises and bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Hire some people and reward the ones you have that are contributing. Recognize that it's the people that are helping to achieve the profits.

I worked at ZF TRW full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay. This is the only pro while I was there. Absolute lousy place to work!

    Cons

Deplorable training, if you don't learn the job in two weeks minimum your gone. Burned out employees who don't want to train and they set you up for failure. Horrible managment (stupid is as stupid does).

    Advice to Management

This is for the Mesa, AZ facility. You cry about how you have such a high turnover and people leave after being there a month or two. NEWS FLASH you idiots, look in the damn mirror! You are the reason. You treat new employees like crap, hand them off to burned out current employees that don't want anything to do with you and set you up for failure. I have worked in manufacturing going on 34 years and this is the only company I have ever seen so desperate for people that you have a sign posted at the end of the street begging for employees. You fire everyone you bring in. Also I have never worked in a place where you have to be worried about being bit by rattle snakes and other critters. Yes rattle snakes seen climbing office cubical walls.

    Pros

TRW is more than willing to adjust processes and procedures to improve functionality and ease of getting the job done. Goals are clear and concise. Regular employe reviews

    Cons

The company will work you till you are too burned out to function well then most leave. High turnover. Employees are viewed as replaceable.

    Advice to Management

Reduce your excessively high bonuses and spread some of the profit to those that worked their tails off to make the company profitable.

    Pros

A good place to start if you're unexperienced and don't know any better. Stay for a while, build your resume and take their money while you look for a company to develop your future with.

    Cons

Very poor experience. Very amateurish management that pushes responsibility to the lowest level and then places blame. Very little to learn here, career-wise, and a complete waste of time.

    Advice to Management

An incredible amount of total ignorance mixed with unwarranted arrogance combine to make a culture where one is constantly guaranteed to fail.

    Pros

Lots of overtime and that's it.

    Cons

unionized, some veteran Employees think they are better than others just because they are on TIER 1 pay scale. Most of the supervisors have no idea how any of the machines are to be operated. Management believes that the company should come before your FAMILY and home life.

    Advice to Management

Get off your high horse and pay people for what they know and the expierence that they have instead of starting them at entry level wages that are poverty level wages at best. TRW used to be the job that eveyone wanted to get and now that is no longer the case.

    Pros

Good Pay and 8 hour work days. On a 7 day rotational shift that is fair to all employees with different days off and it shares the load.

    Cons

Don't allow you to bring in tools and don't give you tools to work on the machines. Expect you to read through a bunch of information in a few hours and sign off as if you understand without official training on anything. Most of the job initially is having you operate as an operator and occasionally perform some maintenance work if the technicians are not so stressed out they don't want you to help. The permanent employees don't treat you well and complain about everything even if it isn't a legitimate complaint. They don't act as if you are welcome and are more a nuisance than a help to them. They have a lot of work and not enough help to keep things running smoothly. The machines are band-aided to keep them running and no legitimate fixes are ever completed for the issues with the machines. You are exposed to workplace elements such as dust and explosive materials that require you to not wash your work clothes with other clothes due to contamination issues. Only the permanent employees get flame resistant pants and temps are told they have to purchase it out of pocket which can run you 70 dollars a pair. The management doesn't care about anything other than making parts and passing their inspections. They are understaffed and have a high turnover rate. Not a good environment if you are looking for a place with positive attitudes and team work. There is a strong disconnect between management and the workers.

    Advice to Management

Value to the extra help you get from your temp workers. Although technicians need to understand the operation of the machines they work on as an operator, it is important to have them operate as technicians first. Take time to give them the tools they need to do their job and allow them to shadow other technicians to learn the rules and priorities of the day. There are too many band-aide fixes on the machines to keep them properly running. Allow technicians to properly fix issues and do the Preventative Maintenance necessary to keep them running well. It would create a more proactive environment instead of a reactive one. if you are new in becoming a supervisor, then allow some time to get to know your employees instead of making immediate judgements about them and deciding to let them go. As a female technician, I did NOT feel welcome and felt undervalued. Technicians are not just male and there are many females who are more than capable of doing the job.
