I worked at Zales full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good salary and clear directives

    Cons

    Excessive travel.
Constantly changing direction from corporate office. The upper level management never worked at store level, so their ideas of what would work in store, often made no sense. The regional manager could make or break this position, and she broke it! Horrible RM, but she's since been terminated.

Stress, lots of hours in management, low control of employees because upper management wants to micromanage

    Advice to Management

Let your store managers run their stores. Stand behind your own rules instead of stores getting in trouble when a customer gets angry about corporate policy enforcement.

I have been working at Zales full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

All aspects of jewelry management and maintenance are included and able to perform in all areas of daily business.

    Cons

Above statement can be a pro but is also can work against the daily business in that it removes you mentally and sometimes physically from the selling floor leaving customers not getting the best service.

    Advice to Management

Try not to make decisions so final in that when a poor one is made it stops you from fixing it.
