    I worked at Zara part-time

    Pros

Super fast-paced, always something to do. If they see you work hard, there's a large possibility of being promoted.

    Cons

Upper management can show some favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Possibly set up a system that can communicate the best employees to promote.

I have been working at Zara full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some pros would be the fashion and innovation. My favorite thing is the constant new styles we get in weekly. The benefits and pto time is great!

    Cons

Cons would be the feeling that the regional team is not completely there for you with the support Needed. It can be very difficult when you have them on your back focusing on the little things and not recognizing a job well done

    Advice to Management

Get to know your team. Less people would quit such a great company if we stopped to ask how they were before they start looking for other jobs.

I have been working at Zara (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Culture, fashion and promoting within company.

    Cons

Position is like being a visual, trainer, sales associate, stock associate and floor manager all is one.. Which is great to gain so much experience, but not when you're under appreciated/under paid.

    Advice to Management

Don't be greedy, appreciate your workers and don't overwork everyone to the point of exhaustion or even leaving. Consider a pay raise for visuals given all of the extra responsibilities we have in addition to acting as associates as well.

I worked at Zara part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay compared to other retailers

    Cons

Long hours, horrible management, Lots of favoritism, only room for growth if you're a favorite, those with positions do the least work and take credit for others, most of the managemente employees are rude, unprofessional, & fearful to promote you so you won't surpass them and they can remain the best at their position, they act as though they are above everyone else and an asset to the company. There's a lot of turnover because of management. the money is not even worth it sometimes. If you're a student or have another job they expect you to put Zara first.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees right and with respect and provide a positive work environment So that they can perform better, Humble yourselves, stop being hypocritical and expecting different behaviors from certain employees while allowing others to break the rules and breaking them yourselves, learn better communication skills.

I have been working at Zara full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Zara has the most loyal customer base of any retailer, and a genius business model. Most managers started out as sales associates and grew internally over the years. You will always be working in a fast-paced and demanding environment, with a lot of pressure from corporate. Zara is not for the weak, you must have thick skin and be able to adapt in any given situation. There are surprise corporate visits, so you never know who might be watching you and analyzing your job performance, any wrong doing and it will be held against you. Your reputation is everything at Zara, so if you do not have a good relationship with your manager's and corporate team members, you will not stand a chance at moving up. There are constantly re-orgs in the company, which means there's always an opportunity for growth with this rapidly expanding company. This job is a full time commitment once you get to management.

    Cons

There is not any transparency throughout the company, which gets very frustrating at times. The scheduled corporate visits cause you so much stress to prepare for, and then when they happen you still receive nothing but negative feedback. It is such a frustrating cycle, because then that negativity is then passed through management to the employee's. This causes the most unpleasant work environment that no one wants to work in. There needs to be a balance between positive/negative feedback, and also constructive criticism. That does not exist here. Each manager has the belief that their department/ tasks are the most important. Corporate's expectations also on a daily basis are basically always impossible to achieve, which they will show you no sympathy for - even in the worst of situations.

I worked at Zara full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay, involvement counts, great job at keeping staff loyal to company

    Cons

Horrible development of staff without proper preparation to work with people. Favoritism plays a huge role to get promoted. No support from HR, always talking in the back of employees and being secretive

    Advice to Management

Prepare store managers more thoroughly and have higher expectations from new management to be well rounded and not just a desk manager.
