former cashier/ sales

the only thing great was the discount
Cons
As a cashier they expect you to do everyones job yet you get paid just like everyone else even as we do this were held to low standards compared to others in store. They hold no respect towards employees and the fact that you may have things taking over. They don't know what a work life balance is and sometimes ignore your availability even though its already set. honestly if you can get a different job do it.The only way to get a promotion is if you kiss up and worship the floor they walk and no human being with self respect is doing that.

Great coworkers. Good discounts to buy clothes. Good company to learn about systems and processes. Good job for students because you can arrange to get days off prior to your exams.
Cons
Low wages. Work on weekends and evenings leaves little time to have life balance.

Pay is alright Decent service award holidays increases with longer service years Xmas voucher April bonus (you have to be with the company for 2 years)
Cons
Don't work full time unless you are ready to kiss your social life goodbye. Work shoes (worth 100 quid) but is the worse and super uncomfortable, especially when working 8hrs shift (work shoes should feel like Asics shoes).

Pros
Meet lovely people Exposure and experience Great on resume
Cons
No work life balance at all as i have to work every single weekend as. We get one weekend off per month which isn't good for my mental health and life.

Pros
Hourly comission, 85% coverage of eye and dental after 3 months probation, fast paced.
Cons
Forgetful, snoby management. Twise came to work and found out that they cut my hours without telling me. Schedule and leave requests are written on the piece of paper, which is extremely laid back and unreliable for the company that big. The schedule is never out on time. When they cut hours they can change your schedule literaly few days before, so work/life balance is hard to mentain. Got hired for the full time position, but sometimes get under 30 hours weeks cause the company 'cannot afford' more hours. For that reason it is very unreliable if its your only source of income. Always understaffed. Cash equipment always does not work properly which causes great deal of stress to cashiers and creates life-long line ups. Very stressful, messy environment in general. Do not recomend that workplace to anyone even with commission it does not pay off for all the stress and negative emotions.

Not great work experience

Salary seems high until you realise how many hours you I put for work does not even add to minimum wage
Cons
They treat smaller stores horrible. No ineterst, low hours, store manager ended up doing job for 7 people while store manager in big stores are walking around looking pretty. Yet again store manager in smaller store needs to know everything when store manager in big store has people to it for them. Our store manager ended up doing 14hours every day otherwise store wouldn't be running due to the hours situation she was the best store manager I ever had in my life until she left. You have no work life balance what's so ever u les u r in big store maybe
