    Pros

    Great people to work with, great place to get an internship. A lot of fellow students especially over the summer. Many interns really liked their bosses. Just a nice place overall.

    Cons

    Not many from my standpoint. They seem to have some good benefits and pay.

    Pros

    Offers some of the best health care benefits I've seen since the 90s.

    Cons

    Has terrible turnover because MANAGEMENT HAS NO IDEA HOW TO MANAGE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT. This company has historically been a hardware company and decided they will be an IOT company which mean they acquired several software offerings. THEY HAVE NO LEADERSHIP SKILLS for this endeavor.

    Not only that but the HR dept has a "gotcha" attitude and loves to set people up for failure and either write you up over it or fire you. I saw in my 3 years there, 15 people leave, either by their own accord or by being let go, in a department that only had 30 people.

    Recap: Bad senior management, bad HR department.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of the senior managers, replace them with people that know how to deliver software. Fire the HR leadership and get someone that knows how to truly handle employees and team dynamics.

    Pros

    Company expanding beyond its mobile printing type of products with it's acquisition of former Symbol .
    Good benefits and competitive salaries.

    Cons

    Work place politics between the divisions. Credit for product development was not handled right.

    See your faults work on them.

    Pros

    Legacy management is great
    Decent pay levels; legacy management very flexible and loyal to employees, fairly strong promote from within when available, though people tend to stay so long that positions don't open frequently

    Cons

    Acquisition has brought silos and a terrible inherited culture from Motorola
    Bonus levels are below industry and job title levels
    No support for education

    Advice to Management

    Flatten the hierarchy a bit

    Pros

    Great Staff, the engineers and the rest of the folks in the Holtsville Office are tremendous to work with. The working staff takes care of each other and keeps an eye out for what is going on in the company.

    Cons

    Management is overly cost conscious making bad decisions solely based on cost vs what will be good fro the company in the long run.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of the staff as they are your greatest asset, start taking the long view and not looking to the end of the quarter.
