    I worked at Zellers part-time

    Pros

Overall is was a good company to work for. It had good ethics and treated all employees fairly. Regular large retailer.

    Cons

When the store was closing the staff was careless - calling in sick , understaffing. The store was very messy and tons of work to do.

    Advice to Management

They should have gave us more notice they were going under. Or at least left reference letters for the people who had worked there for years and were left jobless.

    Pros

Great place to work, very family oriented store, good management and friendly co-workers. Learned a lot about selling and giving good customer service. Lots of room for growth as long as you work hard.

    Cons

Outdated technology, slow to get inventory and always sold out of items on sale.

    Advice to Management

Should have been more up to date with technology.

I have been working at Zellers part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers were nice, everyone knew my name, the work-life balance was good, and it was an all-around friendly environment to be part of. Prices were always low!

    Cons

Salaries were a bit too low, in my opinion, and there was not much upward mobility. I don't think I would have stayed there for longer than two years.

    Advice to Management

Upper management were great to deal with but did not foster an environment of personal growth.
