Cons
- There is no perfect company, including Zennify. - Prone to the same missteps as every other growing organization - scale appropriately. - Industry-leading offering doing its best to voice its offering in a world of bigger players and deeper marketing pockets.

Falling apart & severe cash flow issues; no career growth
Mar 23, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
When I joined company culture was strong
Cons
Each month that followed teams began operating more in silos, extremely high turnover, no annual review process, C-suite leadership doesn’t communicate well with each other, founders struggle to run a company, received PE funding and blew it quickly, PE firm stepped in majorly to course correct, headcount reduced by 45% in less than a year, promote themselves as a “strategic” partner then bring so much overhead to projects because no one is a domain expert, marketing team is a skeleton crew, delivery team drastically burnt out, smoke and mirrors most of the time, tenure means nothing, health insurance premiums increased, no merit increases for hard work.

A wonderful opportunity
Dec 27, 2022 - Configuration SpecialistRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Zennify was willing to train me from scratch and invest in me to get me to the point that I could return the favor. For that alone I could not be more thankful, aside from that they stand out as a company who is really looking out for their employees. In a high burn-out field they staff personal managers to ensure the employees have their needs met and arent stretched too thin. There is also always a large variety of jobs that need doing and Zennify is willing to work with you to make sure you are doing what you enjoy. I decided to move on to take my career in a different direction but I wont forget the opportunity provided to me by Zennify, nor the time I spent with some excellent teams of excellent people
Cons
The transition period from ZAP member to actual working team member was very rough for me, it felt to me as if no one had any idea what to do with me or what I was or wasn't capable of, this transitionary turbulence of course, fades. Aside from that I got the impression that internal organization was something that went through cycles of success and failure, sometimes it would seem everyone was on the same page and other times it was as if no one knew what anyone else was doing or thinking however while this was somewhat concerning, it rarely affected my own work.

Transparency and care drive this organization's culture
Nov 10, 2022 - ConsultantRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Leadership really cares for everyone. When you look at some other negative posts it usually is a one sided view. Not everything is perfect and never will be but at the end of the day. This company really cares for its employees and tries to lead with transparency more then most companies I have worked for. There is a significant dedication by leadership to win and help each employee win. That can mean different things to different people but leadership really wants individuals to do so. Many at this organization see what we are building and understand what it takes to do so. Leadership has empowered us to ask questions, bring up new ideas and make decisions when necessary. A very innovative company that keeps accelerating innovation through technology and people. From the empowerment of people new ideas are getting generated and we are addressing market issues that other companies are not. A true care for the client. In working with other consulting firms I have not seen the genuine care for the client that Zennify has, really care for what we deliver to the client and how. Because how much leadership cares and is involved with employees being empowered their is a tremendous culture that fosters collaboration.
Cons
No company is perfect. Each company has a responsibility to respond to its own short comings. Most of the time Zennify does a great job. Zennify is typically self aware and understand its blinds spots. Must remain diligent.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. It is gratifying to know that you appreciate the genuine care leadership (and the rest of our team members) show to you and to each other. True innovation requires room to fail and to learn from those mistakes. It is true for everyone, including our leadership team. To your point, we aren’t perfect, but we are committed to learning and growing for ourselves and for our teams. Thank you for your support, we will remain diligent.

Pros
-Great growth opportunities -Learning opportunities -Work/Life Balance -Ability to earn bonuses -Listens to employees
Cons
-Sometimes hard to figure out who can actually make decisions on things that are needed -Not a lot of transparency on pay scales and there are variances in salaries between recent hires and people with more knowledge/skill who have been there longer -Can sometimes feel there's a clique formed between Sales/Marketing with upper management with the rest of the employees being left behind

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, observations, and advice. We are working toward providing more pay transparency in the company as a whole. There is no desire to hide this information and any direct question is answered. Although it seems very straightforward to put all this information out in a google sheet, there are significant challenges that need to be considered and we want to roll this out thoughtfully. There is naturally a strong partnership between sales and upper management in an effort to close deals. We regret that it feels like a clique and invite your suggestions (directly or through Zennbox) on what actions could/would break down this perception. It sounds like we have an opportunity to communicate more information about how project teams are put together. Staffing projects is certainly part science & part art. We want our teams to succeed for our clients and for the growth of each member of the team. Skills matrix information (provided by the employee) and availability are the primary considerations when staffing a project. We also want people to have the opportunity to “stretch” to their next role in a safe environment. Titles should come with basic competency in the required skills. If someone isn’t able to perform at that level, then feedback should be provided to the person directly or to their manager so that concerns can be shared and support for success can be provided. Even after COVID restrictions have lifted, our culture remains almost entirely remote. We regret you’re feeling isolated and left to fend for yourself. We have a digital engagement committee that is specifically focused on supporting a remote team. Please reach out with suggestions or general concerns -we are happy to consider them and look for ways to continue to enhance our efforts to meet your needs. We appreciate your grace regarding bumps in the road! We are also excited to see where the next 6 months lead and are glad that you will be a part of that journey.

Going downhill fast - dishonest, unfair and going underwater
Dec 21, 2022 - Sr ConsultantRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Remote friendly (which isn't hard to find these days so that's not exciting)
Cons
Lack of transparency when it comes to the Sales pipeline or financial status of the company Multiple layoffs within a 6 month period after being told things were financially sound and that no more layoffs would be happening. BEWARE: More layoffs are coming in 2023. CEO had a 1:1 with me to acknowledge my hard work/great feedback from peers and offered me stock. He said I would be receiving a letter with more information in the coming week but not to tell anyone. I never received anything regarding stocks. I had PTO scheduled ahead of time for the holidays and ended up getting two other job offers in December so I put my notice in. I had a meeting with HR a couple days later to be let go. The HR manager admitted that upper management indeed decided to let me go early due to the PTO that was scheduled. After almost 3 years with this company and working my butt off for every project, I was screwed over right before the holidays. Zennify's pay scale is way off and you will be severely underpaid and not appreciated - regardless of how hard you work for them. Find a different place to work. Zennify used to be a great company with a great culture, but everything has gone downhill within the past year. I wouldn't recommend working here based on how they treat hardworking employees during their final weeks, their dishonesty about layoffs and financial stability.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Layoffs are certainly difficult for everyone involved, and it’s not an action we have taken lightly. With 150,000+ jobs cut across the tech sector in 2022, it’s something that even the best companies must manage (Salesforce included) to be financially responsible. We made the decision to cut conservatively in each situation to try and impact the fewest number of people. Unfortunately, customer and macro-economic conditions do change. Your contributions and hard work on behalf of Zennify were, and are, very much appreciated. That is why you were offered stock options. Stock options are both a reward and a retention tool. As with the majority of companies, options vest over a period of time. Given your departure from the company, there was no need to issue a letter for your grant, as you would not be with the organization when the first portion of your options was vested.

Great people, absolutely no growth strategy or consideration of staff opinions
Jan 17, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The people are great. The Professional Service Managers (PSMs) in particular were all fantastic. I never had a negative experience with them, and they truly did have my back and fight for me.
Cons
When it comes to growth, management plows forward without any thought as to what they're leaving in their wake. Their desire to get as many customers as possible as quickly as possible leaves the rest of the staff with unclear and undefined scopes, overwhelming workloads, and unreasonable project timelines. PMs and SEMs have way too many projects in their portfolios and are stretched to the point that they're in meetings from sunup to sundown with no time in between to do their actual work. Because of this, it was hard to take PTO, especially if more than one person in your project team wanted to do so at one time.

We take your concerns regarding the challenges with growth seriously and would like to assure you that we are constantly evaluating our processes and working towards finding ways to balance growth with the well-being of our staff. We understand the importance of clear scopes, manageable workloads, and reasonable project timelines and are committed to ensuring that our employees have a healthy work-life balance. Thank you again for your constructive criticism. We look forward to continually improving and providing our employees with the best possible work environment.

Great people, disorganized leadership and lack of career progression
Dec 1, 2022 - Delivery ConsultantRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Zennify hires kind, caring, and extremely smart people. The people I work with on a daily basis are my favorite part of my job. There is great work/life balance and the organization really does embody this. On paper, great culture and values. Some of those are truly embodied whereas others are not.
Cons
Leadership is incredibly disorganized and consistently hires high-level roles that the business 'needs' with no explanation to the business regarding what value they actually provide. Zennify has trouble with the basics. There is a lot of work to be done scoping projects appropriately so team members aren't burning the midnight oil over weekends. The business will hang on to clients that treat team members poorly if they see the monetary value. Recent layoffs have left team members feeling pretty confused because the reasoning for such layoffs provided doesn't align from meeting to meeting. There is a lack of transparency and obvious financial instability. Additionally, there is no formal professional development provided to team members (unless you want to pay for it yourself) outside of Salesforce certifications. Internal L&D has yet to provide a 'Consulting 101' course and a lot of talent hired has no true consulting background leading to challenges with clients (again, missing the mark on the basics).

Thank you for your comments. We are sincerely grateful for all the smart, committed, caring, and collaborative people working at Zennify, and we appreciate the feedback. As with any consultancy operating in a growing, competitive space, we recognize that we can always do things better – from better project scoping to better communication – and that there will be times when teams need to “burn the midnight oil”. Hopefully, based on your earlier comment about the great life/work balance at Zennify, this is not a regular occurrence. Recent layoffs have been difficult for everyone. It is not an action we have taken lightly, and we appreciate the feedback about the situation. It is very hard to separate from amazing people, but it’s a financially responsible decision that companies sometimes have to make – as hard as that decision is. We are certainly not alone in this as economic conditions shift. In 2022 L&D launched 8 new learning programs (including Consulting 101) and now has 40 different total learning paths. We actively support your professional development so long as it aligns with both your interest and the business needs of Zennify.
