    Pros

The products manufactured by ZEP are top notch. The employee shop allows you to get the best products at a reasonable price.

    Cons

The leadership was lacking at best. The management seemed to target employees and would work hard to make sure they did not succeed.

    Advice to Management

Follow the union guide for employee treatment. Don't take things personal and don't act on emotion. Following this advice would decrease the high turnover of middle management.

    Pros

Great Industrial Maintanence Products, but would buy from Home Depot instead of direct.

    Cons

Horrible company, Executive Leadership is very misleading, and does not give ANY respect to associates. I was able to sign a major contract and was fired 2 weeks later, and was not given any reason for termination.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your associates better

I worked at Zep (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Zep has a long history and their breadth of products is immense. This business is unique as the potential customer base is endless.

    Cons

Zep has experienced a great deal of transition and as such they've changed culture away from employees. New ownership and not being a publicly held company will hopefully help.

    Advice to Management

Embrace the talent you have instead of looking for new. Applies time, money, and energy in ZEP's sweet spots instead of going to new segments.

    They will eventually sell off

    Cons

The first time in my career I have been asked to compromise my integrity

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect. New CEO has no regard for anyone.

    Pros

Overall, Zep had hard-working and quality people working for the company. I learned a lot about the manufacturing business, and initially enjoyed my time there.

    Cons

The company had a very conservative culture, and there really wasn't room for growth. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone outside of the plant workers under the age of 50. This really isn't a place for younger employees.

The company was bought out by a private equity firm, and everything quickly changed with it. There were immediate mass firings, and the new management never made any attempt to get to know those who were previously with the company. The work environment turned very negative and employees were in constant fear of being let go. It became clear that the management didn't care about the employees.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice to at least act like you're concerned about your employees well-being. While the "bottom-line" is important, happy employees make for a profitable company.

    Pros

They paid on time and met some nice fellow co workers.

    Cons

Micro managed and talked down to constantly by upper management as well as outside Sales Team. Terrible work Environment awful morale. All around bad experience could not wait for it to be over.

    Advice to Management

Don't talk down to co workers and create a environment where people want to be at work.
