    Pros

Overall, Zep had hard-working and quality people working for the company. I learned a lot about the manufacturing business, and initially enjoyed my time there.

    Cons

The company had a very conservative culture, and there really wasn't room for growth. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone outside of the plant workers under the age of 50. This really isn't a place for younger employees.

The company was bought out by a private equity firm, and everything quickly changed with it. There were immediate mass firings, and the new management never made any attempt to get to know those who were previously with the company. The work environment turned very negative and employees were in constant fear of being let go. It became clear that the management didn't care about the employees.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice to at least act like you're concerned about your employees well-being. While the "bottom-line" is important, happy employees make for a profitable company.

    Pros

They paid on time and met some nice fellow co workers.

    Cons

Micro managed and talked down to constantly by upper management as well as outside Sales Team. Terrible work Environment awful morale. All around bad experience could not wait for it to be over.

    Advice to Management

Don't talk down to co workers and create a environment where people want to be at work.

    Pros

Independent working environment. Once a great company who truly cared about its people. A lot of high quality individuals met over the years , most of them gone.

    Cons

Absolutely no direction at all. Offers zero expenses paid. No structure, no help from management. Like working on a island.

    Advice to Management

Maybe too late with recent purchase by mountain capital group. They will tear it apart with no regard for its people. Run if you can.

I worked at Zep full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great products! Unique product offering vs that of competition. A well known name. Co benefits were pretty good. Been around for a long time.

    Cons

Sales going the wrong direction. New mountain capital blood baths 3 times a year. Job uncertainty! Nmc will sell/flip Zep in less than 1 year and more job losses after the new company takes over

    Advice to Management

In order to attract and maintain quality help nmc needs to project a positive image instead of gloom/doom. Right now the word in the industry is to not do business with Zep and especially do not work there. If you're there now get out before it's too late. Severance package offered is terrible!!!!
