Not what it used to be

Great, skilled people in the teams, still wanting to do their best for the customers
Cons
Since PayPal took over everything is changing for the worse. More red tape, everything slows down and has to go through lengthy and ambiguous review processes. Constant re-orgs and strategy changes without involving the people who work with the products. Top-down American micro management and "leaders" who do their best to burn out people with ridiculous demands and deadlines. Attrition is high and some teams are left starved of developers and designers with no chance of backfills.

I worked for Zettle for 6 years. They really put employee wellbeing at the top of their agendas. Great place to work.

The usual - pay was definitely not in line with market rates but there were other benefits that balanced this.

New Leadership by incompetence and fear

Previously we had real good leadership on higher level and all colleagues were very engaged and helpful towards each other.
Cons
This has now drastically changed with the new PayPal leadership coming in from Amazon and Klarna starting this fall who are now managing by fear pushing down on the middle mangament. Having no clue themselves. They have clearly reached their level of incompetence and are very hurtful to the entire organisation due to their high position. This behaviour seems to include silent firing and it feels like their goal is to dismantle the Swedish branch altogether. My hope is that this behaviour is realised by true leaders before its too late.

Gifts and benefits from being a Paypal employee
Cons
No opportunities for progression, Management is not helpful at all, the day to day operations were completely different than what was advertised. Boring, repetitive work and burnt out colleagues.
