I worked at Zimmer Biomet full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good corporate benefits and perks. Quarterly bonuses. Lots of OT for hourly employees. Casual dress code. Management shows appreciation with gift cards/free company swag.

    Cons

Post-merger there were/are a lot of growing pains for Zimmer Biomet. Management chose to relocate to a smaller warehouse to save money, which quickly became overcrowded and cramped due to increased inventory and staff.

Extremely low employee morale. Employees are overworked and generally miserable. Operations can barely keep up with the growing sales with increasingly limited inventory. Constant Product recalls and back-orders.

All Operations employees work incredibly hard every day. Everyone (except for management) must be "on-call" 24/7 for 1 full week on a rotating basis (every 4-6 weeks). Your 'on-call' week will be mentally and physically draining as you will be required to work your typical day, stay (very) late every night and also come in multiple times over the weekend.

I worked at Zimmer Biomet full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is decent. There are plenty of coworkers that are smart and able. I can only speak for my position and department (Operations).

    Cons

There is absolutely no work/life balance. The management does not know anything that is actually going on with operations and, when advised of a problem, they simply do not listen. Very poorly run department within their spine division. Absolutely no appreciation for their employees. The company runs like a high school full of gossip and rumours. I honestly felt like most of the employees were the people who graduated at the bottom of their class. Not a lot of talent.

    Advice to Management

Ensure a greater work/life balance. Understand what is going on with the people you manage and how your department works.

I have been working at Zimmer Biomet as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Good company to gather experience about biomedical device
    - Company located in small town, so not much traffic during office hours

    Cons

Don't have proper project plan, company's structure is very much disorganized. They would hire bunch of employees all on a sudden if they get a new project without knowing how they are going to utilize the employees. They even don't have enough space for accommodating newly joined employees. The saddest part is they'll layoff all of those employees immediately after project completion. Work life balance in here is very poor if you work in manufacturing. They work continuously throughout whole year with lot of overtime. Employees are even forced to work on every Saturday even in holidays.

    Advice to Management

Make proper plan. Fix your mission and vision. Don't just concentrate all of your resources for temporary project. Consider some benefit of employees too

I worked at Zimmer Biomet (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Prestige associated with large company, detailed processes, 401(k) matching program was competitive.

    Cons

Antiquated business systems, poor leadership from executive management, overly-silohed work environment, constant M&A activity without clear execution strategies, poor work culture, non-competitive salary and healthcare.

    Advice to Management

Please stop acquiring companies only to gut the things which made that company successful and attempt to organically grow a business unit.

I worked at Zimmer Biomet full-time

    Pros

Biomet was the best employer to work for under Dane Miller's leadership

    Cons

Broken team member spirit under Jeff Binder and worse after buyout of Zimmer

Feel sorry for Warsaw tas payers after all the layoffs and giving Biomet - Zimmer tax breaks

    Advice to Management

Too late to fix regulatory and quality issues after laying off a great team. Sell off under performing units. Dump Dave Dvork and get new upper management
