I have been working at Zimmerman Advertising full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    "Food, Water, ATMOSPHERE"

Working at Zimmerman is honestly the coolest job you can have. The building is nicer than anything you could imagine, the work is easy (if you're good at numbers and can work in excel), and the people you work with are amazing. It takes a certain type of person to work at Zimmerman, so don't come if you aren't cool/fun and can't handle a little pressure.

Yes, the pay is low. Yes, you will get recruited from the largest agencies in the world after being here. Yes, it's worth it.

    Cons

Pay. I would give 5 stars if we were paid the same as every other agency. BUT- your first year or two at Zimmerman are for learning. You get paid in experience and will learn more here than you will anywhere else.

    Advice to Management

    Keep on keeping on.

I have been working at Zimmerman Advertising full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome opportunity to learn the ins and outs of major retail advertising

Will be trusted with tremendous amounts of responsibility and independence if you demonstrate competence

    Cons

Pay is low (even for an agency), you are essentially paid in experience

Promotions are hard to come by, turnover leads to more new hires and not upward growth for existing employees

    Advice to Management

Increase performance reviews to every 6 months

I worked at Zimmerman Advertising (More than a year)

    Pros

Not going to lie, the building is pretty cool. Also, due to the high turnover rate, co-workers are generally young and fun to work with.

    Cons

    1) The pay is terrible. Worse than terrible. Laughable wages. Literally... My girlfriend laughed at me.
    2) The work is terrible. Very few people on even fewer accounts have the opportunity to conceptualize good creative. From account services to the creative department, it isn't about producing good work... It's about producing a lot of work, very fast. You have no pride in the work you are doing and you don't learn how to properly conceptualize projects here. It wasn't until I left for a real agency that I learned how good advertising is made.
    3) Zimmerman is a tool... Once I shared an elevator ride with him and thought I was having a conversation with him until I realized he was just talking on a Bluetooth headset and never actually acknowledged my presence.
    4) Promotions - you think this would be a pro, not a con... But they just offer promotions to keep you around. I was promoted twice yet the type of work and responsibilities I had remained constant... There was just more of it. They also throw pennies at you each time so you can feel like you're getting a raise, but the pay is still crap.

    Advice to Management

Have some pride in the work. Want more for your clients. Don't settle and push the norm. It's not always about what the fastest, what's the easiest, what's the cheapest way to get something done. Put some thought and value into the work and maybe employees would think about valuing this job more. Also, to state the obvious, you have to pay more. Wages are not livable.
