Great place to grow

There are a lot of young fun people working in a new, modern building. The management team is not afraid of making tough calls. There are a good deal of large accounts that continue to grow in profile. Individuals are given a lot of responsibility relative to their years of experience.
Cons
The hours can tend to be long and entry level pay is not great.

Pros
Big name brand experience that might build your resume
Cons
the agency is incredibly understaffed and piles work on those who are foolish enough to remain. team members leave and are not replaced, you are just expected to absorb their work, continue with your work and take on all the new business that they can throw on you. Expect long hours in the office and little consideration for any of your personal time that you invest after regular work hours or on weekends. There is no comp time given if you give a weekend up for new business or a client deadline - instead.... Expect a sniping comment and unwanted stare if you walk in 10 minutes late due to traffic on 95. The fact that they refer to the agency as...The Machine... is the realist thing you will find - it is a cold, heartless, mechanized food processor of a machine that chews people up. It will never be satisfied. Do not work at this company. it Is an employees' market you can get more money and better work life balance elsewhere. Also the tag line of 24/7 Really - BELIEVE IT. They are not kidding.

Sweat and blood went into my work, unfortunately no appreciation for it.

What the most enjoyable part of working at the Z was definitely seeing my colleagues every day. When I say colleagues, I mean AEs ONLY. In my department there were more days that we were suffering than floating on cloud nine, but at least we had a camaraderie- we (the AEs) were all in it together. We had a great understanding of what each of us were going thru, constantly being put down either from our superiors and/or client, so being able to vent about it amongst each other was what kept me/us sane.
Cons
Imagine working for a bunch of pompous jerks who do not give any interest in getting to know their subordinates on a better, healthier level. Considering the AEs/ACs did the grunt of the work, you would think the supervisors, directors, and higher ups would be more appreciative of their employees- I'm pretty sure the EVP of my department didn't know my first name! We were a department of maybe 15 people tops & I worked for him for 2 years! Absolutely no respect for work/life balance; in fact they make you feel bad for wanting to leave at 6 pm (end of the day). You should expect to work long hours (50-60 hours a week) without extra compensation, and don't even get me started about how low the pay is. They do not offer competitive salaries, just an FYI. Working hard wasn't the issue for me, in fact, that was the only way to function, but you are not being thanked for it, rarely recognized that you worked so hard. A pat on the back would be nice. NO, an omelet breakfast isn't telling me thank you. In fact, it takes me away from my desk and prevents me from leaving on time. Part of the problem is that the departments are so spread thin, often times you are hired to absorb 3 positions in one. This is not how a real agency works. They brainwash you to think this is how other agencies function, they are lying. 'Peaks and valleys' is a comment phrase you hear around these hallways, but honestly it displays poor management, or lack there of (considering everyone they hire on a senior level usually doesn't come from an advertising background and/or training is non-existent), that needs to be re-evaluated all together. Training the lower levels is also non-existent. Luckily I was able to survive, but not all are quite so lucky. It was quite difficult to navigate through the nonsense. Also interdepartmental cohesiveness is non-existent. In fact, working with the supportive departments was quite a hassle; the main focus was to prevent doing their job or provide roadblocks to demonstrate why they shouldn't do it. All in all, this is a terrible excuse for an agency, you're better off finding another opportunity, with a company that actually invests in you and cares for you. Believe me, they are out there!

Work here if you can handle a lot of stress and less pay

- some people are nice - nice building with an unlimited soda machine - good to start but leave as soon as you can - not in Miami
Cons
They care so much about their clients that they forget to care about the employees. They try to make you feel like they do (during town hall meetings) but they really don't. All they care about is how to make money (they don't care about integrity and all that) They will over promise to the client without even knowing how to achieve their goals.. So... clients leave because they're being lied to or deceived. ALSO.. the media trading room is a joke. NO ONE USES IT but it's one of the main attractions when clients visit. - management sucks - supervisors are so-so - and... the pay is ridiculously low - no growth here. they wont care about your growth career wise or money wise whatsoever - long hours and overtime pay sucks so don't even think about asking for overtime pay

Stay away

Meet people in the trenches with you. You do learn things quickly. This place is great if you are straight out of college and live home with your folks and need the experience.
Cons
There is NO formal training; you either sink or swim in this organization. This place has a high turn over rate. If you make it in this place you can work anywhere. Long hours are expected with tons of work bc ppl are leaving. This place isn't for people with work experience. The pay is horrible. If you're not an upper level executive you're not making real money.
