I worked at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Met some great people there. Enjoyed each of my managers in different ways. Some of the departments have a strong culture of improving the business processes and have people who will listen and work with you. I felt encouraged to look for ways to innovate. The company does great things locally, and I felt proud to say I work for Zions. My list of cons below are a bit lengthy and specific, but I want to stress...

    Cons

The health insurance is a slap in the face and beyond laughable. I personally knew of many of my former coworkers who left and this was reason number 1 on their list of reasons for leaving. Year after year, management would survey employees for feedback, and this was a constant issue that was addressed only in a very superficial way, meeting a bare minimum so management could tell us they were listening to our complaints...

    Advice to Management

Compensate your employees. I just did not feel that the company really cares about doing what it takes to keep highly talented employees at all levels. Get more aggressive about offering promotions, better compensation, and above all, humane health insurance.

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Can wear jeans. Management is approachable.

    Cons

Low Pay. Structural changes all of the time that affect morale. They are very cheap when it comes to small things for employees - holiday party's, treats, rewards.

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Company cares about the people. They focus on conservative values. They really provide an atmosphere to empower the employees. They make sure family comes first.

    Cons

Weak when it comes to raises. With a cost cutting environment getting a proper raise is tough. Resources are strained and required to do more with less

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great work life balance. I have not had to miss any of my kids soccer games due to work conflicts. Job security. If you show up at 8 and leave at 5 every day, chances are you will always have a job. Lots of paid time off.

    Cons

Lots of bureaucracy. Nothing gets done without some kind of request form approved by management. They have the worst employee insurance coverage in all of Utah. You have the choice of a $5k or $10k high deductible health plan with no contributions to HSA. Zions has a policy and procedure for just about everything you do. Zions is not innovative at all when it comes to human capital management. Zions Management by...

Management is stuck in 1980...If you don't get current and innovative with human capital management to start attracting and keeping top talent, you are going to be left behind.
