    Pros

The environment itself is pretty friendly.

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They walk the walk that most companies only talk when it comes to promoting from within and caring about employees. Many many very long term employees speaks to how well they threat people. Tons of opportunity and support. One of the rare companies that you can be a "company man/woman" . Very conservative, but surprisingly diverse. Everyone has the same shot here, I haven't seen or heard of any discrimination. I really...

    Cons

health insurance is basically catastrophe, lowest deductible is 4k I think. but I've been able to make it work with the Health Savings plan. The rest of the benefits are good.

    Advice to Management

Management is doing great, I just think a traditional health insurance plan option would be wonderful. other than that, literally no complaints.

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

Good values and culture. Strong competitive position in most markets. Not into exotic or shady sectors of financial services. People have good attitudes. Minimal infighting or other BS. Wants to be innovative, especially via new technology.

      Cons

Only a modest appetite and budget for innovation projects and teams. There are very few projects that are aiming at true breakthroughs. Doesn't yet see FinTech companies as competition. May get blind-sided.

I worked at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Offers good work-life balance, remote work as needed. Gives you time to learn/study for your personal gain or work-related.

      Cons

Poor management, most of the time no one cares. Zero teamwork, you are dealing with stupid imposed targets even if your job is not in sales or anything related. Everyone else is dumping things on you and they expect you to do it just because they think they are better than you just because are above you in terms of position or department. You are being looked at like you are plain garbage most of the time. You are being...

      Advice to Management

Stop being so full of yourself. Stand by your team, create a team, to begin with. Pay your employees what they should get. If you are pushing so hard on separation of duties than, make it clear across the board that all departments must follow the same rules and do their job. Stop hiring incompetence people and stop making stupid decisions like contracts with vendors that are not doing anything but taking your money....

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Offers good work life balance for those with families. Not as aggressive as some of the other banks. Give you time to learn something and try. Salt Lake City offers a relatively good quality of life for the cost of living. All four seasons with great access to outdoors.

      Cons

Stuck in old times of manually evaluating each and every loan application. Struggled with very low efficiency ratios and as a result has seen a lot of layoffs and reorganizations in past 3-4 years. Not as stable as it used to be years past. Heavy focus on commercial lending has resulted in low overall profitability further exacerbating impact of tight margins in last few years. Management tends to be very conservative...

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time

      Pros

Some good people work there, and salaries are competitive.

      Cons

Very poor management. Constantly cutting resources, dumping more on employees, expecting new and poor software to help (it doesn't), huge initiatives go nowhere, and overall lack of stability.

      Pros

Can wear jeans. Management is approachable.

      Cons

Low Pay. Structural changes all of the time that affect morale. They are very cheap when it comes to small things for employees - holiday party's, treats, rewards.
