I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Lots of job opportunities and a variety of technologies to learn. Competitive wages. Great people to work with. Work from home 1-2 days a week.

    Cons

Benefits, especially health benefits are poor and are on the very low end of the "benefit" spectrum!

    Advice to Management

Stop mimicking the rhetoric and do something about health care benefits and improving them. The employees have spoken, LISTEN to what they have to say!

I worked at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great people overall. There was a great work/life balance for employees for the most part.

    Cons

If you have an issue with a manager, and go to their manager or HR, they may collude to get you out, rather than help with the problem. Some of the management seemed to let the newly attained power go to their heads.

    Advice to Management

Be careful or many of the best employees might get pushed out due to these petty ego issues.

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The TOPS organization as a whole has great people.

    Cons

How can the HR leadership team be in HR and treat people like underlings. Is HR not supposed to set the example of being Passionate about People!!!!

    Advice to Management

Take some time to look into the poor example your HR leadership team is setting. You used to have some really good people there. How many more have to leave. You say you care about your employees, get someone in HR who does and sets a good example there.

I worked at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There are some good folks that still work there... But there have been even more great people that have left because of in-competent, in-experienced executive and senior management.

    Cons

Lots... compliance issues.. production stability issues.. federal regulators have arrived (and they are not happy)... lack of leadership at all levels..

    Advice to Management

The CIO and CTO should resign before the hammer falls. Experienced I.T. Executives from outside of the bank need to be brought in to clean things up before it is too late.

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation

    Pros

Great people to work with Tight-knit culture Remaining competitive within the banking industry Decent compensation Good open door policy Great work-life balance

    Cons

Horrible, horrible benefits Different departments are not in sync with one another Favoritism is shown towards certain employees Some departments are lacking direction Limited growth and advancement within certain departments

    Advice to Management

To further boost morale among employees you guys should reward employees hard work with better benefits package, more compensation and create growth and advancement among all departments. Also focus on getting all departments and affiliate banks in sync with each other

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation

    Pros

Knowledge sharing, challenging faced paced, great people. Overall Zions is a great place to work and they care about their people. There are a lot of areas to learn and many opportunities to grow. I would recommend Zions to any motivated individual.

    Cons

Regulations, regulations, regulations, goverment oversite can be a pain. Being in the banking industry there are continous audits and oversite that has to be followed.

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation

    Pros

Great people, interesting projects, strong financial leadership (especially given current banking climate). Most people enjoy a great work / life balance.

    Cons

Reactionary "firefighting" culture a result of a lack focus and strategic vision. Health benefits lacking. Company could benefit from better "wellness" programs (ie a gym).

    Advice to Management

Need to align department objectives with strategic mission to ensure all people are working on what is important.. Lack of focused effort misses the mark of being a great bank.
