I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Zions Bancorporation has incredible people to work with and has many opportunities for the motivated and self-starter.

    Cons

The health benefits are horrible and only seem to be getting worse.

    Advice to Management

We have lost many talented employees to other organizations over the years due to poor benefit choices by management. Employee retention should be a much higher priority.

I worked at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Stable job, good work life balance, flexibility, good people and friendly environment, 401K match, nice company training opportunities and lunches/events, good company culture overall

    Cons

Pay is on the low end for market standards, it's tough to get a promotion even though management supposedly cares about the progression of its employees, people with inside connections end up in manager positions, health benefits are horrible, processes are way too complex, some people's paths to promotions are much easier than others regardless of quality of work done

    Advice to Management

Retain your employees who do good work, open up your wallets and pay them what they deserve. Too many talented employees who wanted to stay had to go elsewhere to achieve progression and better pay when they could have easily been kept within the company. Don't wait for good employees to get an offer elsewhere to offer them promotions/raises

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The bank takes pride in being able to promote from within. Additionally, they do listen and address concerns were they can.

    Cons

Benefits... The health benefits are a bit pricey with having high deductible plans, but you can offsite the health costs by participating in an HSA account.

I worked at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Fantastic employees that keep the company together. There is a positive team atmosphere there.

    Cons

Poor health benefits. It feels that as the years go on the bank is not earning as much and the employees are the first to get squeezed.

    Advice to Management

Keep the employees first before pet projects. The projects are only going to weaken the bank and allow a takeover.

      I worked at Zions Bancorporation

      Pros

Was a good stable company to work for, the salary was fair for the expectations. Very flexible to salary employees to have a work/life balance.

      Cons

Horrible health benefits, very difficult to enact change but that could be expected at a company as regulated as a bank

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

Great work environment. Trying to stay with the industry trends. Good work/life balance.

      Cons

Health benefits are expensive. This is really my only complaint about the company.

      Advice to Management

Become more of a front-runner in the banking industry, not a laggard.

I have been working at Zions Bancorporation

      Pros

Not really many to speak of.

      Cons

Inadequate pay Abysmal health benefits Unwillingness to evolve Automation and process improvement is resisted

      Advice to Management

Manage out employees unwilling to adapt and improve. Build out and compete with peer banks by matching feature sets. Eliminate bureaucracy and stand up to auditors, examiners and regulators. Listen to staff in the successful markets.
