    Pros

    Leads provided
Great for someone who is new to real estate and wants experience instead of higher pay.

    Cons

    Extremely low commission split
No base but they still require you to show up to office regularly for meetings or other things.
    Not for experienced realtors
The cost of getting a deal done sometimes out weights what you get paid for the deal.

    Cons

Balance of work vs family time

    Advice to Management

New Management is in place to get to the next level. Need more agents to handle the thousand of leads coming in.

    Pros

Leads, Coaching and mentoring are just a part of the benefits of being a Zip Realty agent. This is an online brokerage with top notch technology platforms that help you stay organized.

    Cons

The previous managemnet has lacked stability, but the current management in place is fantastic and supportive to all the agents.

  6. "Need better commission splits after lead gen charge"

    I worked at ZipRealty full-time

    Pros

Lots of leads to work with.... platform maintenance is key... Great client experience with website... helpful & supportive environment

    Cons

Lower commissions because of the percentage Zip Realty gets for lead generation... need better splits after the fee charged for the leads

    Advice to Management

Commission split starts at 50:50 after Zip gets its cut for lead gen. A lot of brokers give better commission splits. Since there already is the 30% charge for the lead, they could afford to start with a more generous commission split.

  8. "You Are Not An Independent Contractor"

    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at ZipRealty (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the leads you receive from the Zip Realty platform are legitimate.

    Cons

You are definitely not an independent contractor, regardless what they tell you and any agreements that you sign. You are told what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. If you do not follow the mentor/manager's instruction, there are consequences. You will spend many hours working old leads that have been passed from one agent to the next due to high turn over. When you do eventually convert a lead and have a question, your mentor/manager will likely not respond despite telling you that they are always available to help. Commission splits are terrible.

I have been working at ZipRealty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is amazing! Leads, Leads, Leads, not all are good but can close 2 or more a month. The CRM is unbelievable! Best I have ever worked! The staff is awesome!

    Cons

The split could be more, however, in the long run, I am making more money here because I am closing more here. Less is MORE!

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Things are so much better, now!

I have been working at ZipRealty full-time

    Pros

Technology and flexibility. Potential to be a great company.

    Cons

Constant directives and pressure to produce. Too many emails from management asking for lead updates. Low splits.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating salespeople like like your personal employees. Allow your agents to work at their pace without having to answer the same constant questions from management. Stop threatening to take leads away.
