Poor workplace culture, constantly disrespected by under-qualified management.

      Pros

Vacation days, pay is alright straight out of college.

      Cons

Management blames systemic problems on employees. Any change to woefully outdated systems is met with staunch resistance.

      Great Place to Work

      Pros

Zoetis does a phenomenal job of training you and preparing you to do your job. They have a dedication to preparing their employees with all the tools, and the L&D manager is amazing.

      Cons

Zoetis is a large company, and with that comes a lot of bureaucratic processes and roadblocks that may hinder career development. If you're ambitious and not in a department with strong management, then you could end up stuck in a hamster wheel. If your management is strong, then skies the limit. Your individual professional development shouldn't be tied into your manager's strengths, and unfortunately, that's the way it was and why I ultimately left.

      Looks good on paper...

      Pros

It's a large company so plenty of resources.

      Cons

As a former employee of the company that they acquired all I can day is they lied about so much. "We'll never change your culture!" Except they cancelled all.of our employee appreciation events because "that's not the Zoetis way." If they had replaced them with different events that would be different but they simply took them all away. I know of so many employees who have left because unless you are upper management they don't care about you. You're just a cog in their wheel and they let you know how easily you can be replaced.

      Difficult Despite Work From Home

      May 12, 2021 - Anonymous Employee

      Pros

Pay and compensation. 3 weeks PTO, 10 paid holidays, strong financials and growing business outlook, 5% 401k match, long term stock options. Continued work from home during covid taking a safe approach.

      Cons

A lot of chaos. Very political. No work life balance. For me, it felt like a very toxic atmosphere. I felt thrown under the bus (or left to fend on my own) and did not have opportunities to thrive. I didn't feel conflict was ultimately resolved and moved from one fire to another. Roles and responsibilities were unclear at times with no guidance or direction. No career development or coaching offered. I also felt that their was very low morale among team members. Team members did not seam happy but rather stressed. Some consultants took advantage and the organization seamed to limp along rather than replacing with suitable resources.

      Not an Engineer Friendly Organization

May 13, 2021 - Engineer in Chicago, IL
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      The compensation levels are decent.

      Cons

      1. Toxic leadership that is only interested in "yes men". There will be retaliatory actions taken should you express any dissatisfactions or a difference of opinion. 2. Failure to effectively utilize technical resources - one engineer was doing month's end closing for the site and another was doing cycle counts. 3. Failure to disclose on-site presence of a contracted engineering firm during the interview process. Thus, Zoetis engineers do not perform legitimate engineering work and are instead expected to function as business administrators. If you enjoy mind-numbing paperwork that provides no value to the business, this is the perfect place for you. 4. Failure to recognize staff for achievements that save the business significant dollars. Leadership will scoff that the solution was simple (yet no one else was able to come up with it). 5. I could continue listing issues, but you should get the point. Only join this organization if absolutely necessary and go in with the intent of using it as a pit-stop in your career.
