RecommendsPositive OutlookNo opinion of CEOI worked at Zonar Systems full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
- Great working environment - Great culture - Flexible and understanding management - Amazing benefits and time off compared to a company that size - Lots of free food and great office space in downtown Seattle
Cons
- Some churn and issues with C-level execs - Disconnect between sales, customer support and engineering

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Zonar Systems full-time
Pros
Tons of great stuff to say about sooo many Zonarians at all levels. A strong group of dedicated engineers and professionals, and just hard working folks, doing their best to meet some pretty crazy demands.
Cons
Still lots of growing and some transformative changes needed systemically and organizationally in order to meet upcoming demands.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Zonar Systems full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
Few pros. Lots of room for growth, but the cheapest option isn’t the good option.
Cons
I didn't know it at the time, but 'You'll be wearing many hats' was a sign that they were going to give me the work of four positions and the wage of one. No time for anything. Terrible work/life balance. Inability of upper management to see that more team members are needed in certain areas to get the job done right.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo opinion of CEOI worked at Zonar Systems full-time for more than a year
Pros
Nice office, company breakfasts every other Friday, good work/life balance. There are some good people working here who are very nice.
Cons
Constantly changing commission plans, very slow (over 1 month commission payouts), highly oversaturated market with little opportunities now. Two years ago the ELD market was red hot, now it's a race to the bottom to try to flip accounts. Also, most notably, everything changed after being acquired by Continental. Not the same culture, not the same values, and obvious cut back on autonomy. The product itself is okay, but just okay. There is very little reason for a client to break their contract and pour a huge initial investment in switching their entire fleet to Zonar. Because of this, sales have dried up.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Zonar Systems full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Good benefits, fun non work related activities
Cons
Zero work life balance. They do not care what is going on in your personal life, and it better not get in the way of work. The management team overall is a joke, especially in finance. They would have meetings to improve the moral of the employees but nothing actually ever came of it. They don't treat all employees equally either. One employee will ask for something such as a promotion and be told thats not possible due to budgets and its only done at review time but two weeks later a new position is created and their coworker given a promotion, by the same manager. The people who get promoted are because they are friends with the management team and not because its earned with merit or skill.

Negative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Zonar Systems
Pros
•Supportive colleagues. •Fun events and holiday celebrations including annual turkey fry, cinco de mayo, Halloween. •Convenient locations for both headquarters and TDC. •Diverse workforce- only diverse in lower level roles. Diversity is non existent in management/director/executive roles.
Cons
There has been no strides to create new and competitive products. Zonar used to be a leader in the industry but is now only competitive on name recognition. Competitors are out with innovative new products at a cheaper cost. Internal tools are archaic to say the least. CRM is abysmal, as well as other tools needed to perform. It’s a constant “put a bandaid over it”. The stack of bandaids must reach the moon by now. We have no competent billing system. Customers are unable to make payments online, accounting is consistently overcharging/undercharging customers then rely on members of other teams to correct the situation, causing distrust between customer and customer contact/manager. What happened with Zoom? 10 million to develop that product for it to never launch and get scrapped. Amazing use of resources and finances. Compensation is well below market, especially for Seattle. It’s too expensive and too competitive in the region to live comfortably working at Zonar.
