I worked at Zotos full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's great if you are one of the "chosen ones"

    Cons

Very poor management, playing favorites, constant berating of very good employees, unable to retain top talent because of this, inappropriate behavior by top management

    Advice to Management

The entire management team should be fired!

    Pros

I was hired on about six months ago as a temp through their staffing agency (Adecco). Working here hasn't been bad. There are a number of different shifts and positions available. Safety is emphasized.

It's a good place if you're looking for short term work.

    Cons

High turnover. Limited room to move up from an entry level position.Wages are lower than comparable jobs in other factories in the area.

An attitude of misery, and brow-beating from anyone with a slight outranking (I.e. non supervisors with higher pay, or full time positions) of you. Also, a large spanish-speaking population in the factory, with no willingness to learn or communicate with the fellow members of your team.

Expect to be a temp for anywhere from 1-4 years before you can even be considered for a full time position. Over 70% of the people on the floor are temps. If you're late, or have an unplanned absence (such as sickness, or bereavement)
expect to not get a raise that year. Also, temp agency does not provide benefits, or vacation time. If you would like to take vacation, figure out what you are going to do for money in that time period.

    Advice to Management

Give employees reasons to stay long term. You cannot expect people to want to stay working for a temp agency forever.

    Pros

    no pros at this juncture

    Cons

The management looks at safety as a joke that can be easily covered up. It's "the cost of doing business" so they say.Another example of a once fine amercan company being bought out by Japanese conglomerate which failed.

    Advice to Management

My advice to the highest level of Japanese management is to shut down and move all operations to Japan. You've fouled up enough here. Dummies.

I have been working at Zotos full-time

    Pros

Senior management is very nice and a lot of the people are great. Cafe on site with really good food and staff - serves breakfast and lunch but should be subsidized seeing as neighbor companies are allowed to use it too for the same prices. Summer hours for four months. Pretty flexible hours.

    Cons

Poor training, you basically have to figure out your job on your own. Although there are great people there it is extremely clicky....takes a long time to get to know people because they aren't overly welcoming to newbies. Atmosphere is serious and very uptight mainly because HR is very strict with everything. Dress code is corporate casual and can only wear jeans on Friday which matches the uptight atmosphere.
The work is pretty well paced and doesn't require a lot of extra work hours but they are completely unorganized with company sections and brands all over the map! It makes communication very difficult and sometimes near impossible to get answers when you need them. Very little opportunity for growth unless you are looking to relocate far away for it.

    Advice to Management

Loosen up your HR department and allow for some casual atmosphere. Most people who work there don't deal with outside people anyway. Most Fortune 500 companies have a casual dress code because comfort equals productivity especially when your sitting at a desk all day long!

I worked at Zotos full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Managers (in the lab) are very good. Most of the people are very pleasant to work with and the pay is decent for what it is.

    Cons

You feel like a line worker at times, on your feet for entire shift and a lot of work/understaffed. Often QC techs are not respected by higher ups because as with any company, the QC lab is a bottleneck for production. No internet for employees. Very little room to move up within the company.
