I worked at Zuora full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You learn everyday. This place deserves 3 stars because it used to be great and could be again, but it's going the wrong way.

    Cons

Career opportunities are drying up, likely because the company is moving up market. Comp plans are below market, especially for the difficult nature of the product. ZEO Culture is not a reality anymore.

    Advice to Management

Stop overpromising and underdelivering. Zuora is so far away from delivering on its sky-high Subscription Economy promises and unfortunately, Wall Street is punishing shareholders for it. You need new Product leadership immediately. The people there now aren't delivering the sellable add-ons and the Zuora/RevPro integration. You need both for the sales team to hit their numbers. If you don't have the resources to...

I have been working at Zuora full-time

    Pros

    I can't think of a single one.

    Cons

Niche product with solid marketing - but that's where it ends. The market they are selling into is a mirage The subscription economy is a pipe dream - and this is clearly evident with the failed sales leadership and their inability to execute. Their lack of strategy certainly doens't help - yet they make it sound SO easy.! o of course they get to stick around while sales people are slaughtered.

    Advice to Management

Fire yourself and learn how to drive demand though modern channels.

    - In the 3+ years I've been here, I've had multiple opportunities to grow my career and I'm constantly learning. - On the sales side, you have a unique opportunity to sell a visionary product to some of the most disruptive companies, both start-ups and global enterprises going through business transformation. - Zuora does a great job of recruiting talented and smart people so you’re surrounded by individuals who are...

I have been working at Zuora full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I've been at Zuora for two years now and it's been a great experience. I've learned a ton about sales, and career progression from my managers and the executive team. Zuora is a great place to work and I'm looking forward to growing with the company.

    Cons

I can't think of any downside to working for Zuora.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. Get better at golf.

I worked at Zuora full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very skilled and experienced sales management team on the East Coast. Sales enablement team does a good job able coaching reps to sell the product. High degree of exposure to SaaS businesses is a huge plus if you are new to the space. The CEO is a great product centric leader.

    Cons

I will echo many of the reviews already on Glassdoor. The senior sales team is sub-par at best with very little understanding of how to run and grow a 500+ organization. The organization needs to remove many of these "leaders" for more tenured hires who can provide a path for the sales team to follow. Marketing needs a lot of help, not only with additional headcount, but from the market. Subscriptions are everywhere now,...

    Advice to Management

Expand the product capabilities and have this be the CEO's focus. If the company isn't able to capture the entirety of the subscription market Zuora will boom and bust as a 500 to 700 person company forever.

I have been working at Zuora full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The company treats its employees very well. Nice benefits, life balance, and in-line compensation. Best in class product that is very 'in demand' in a wide range of industries.

    Cons

Long sales cycles introducing a new product that touches everybody inside a new customer. Technical (engineering) resources to advance a deal can be scarce.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in the pre-sales engineers, engineering managers, etc. They are the lifeblood of our sales team and we need more of them.

I have been working at Zuora full-time for more than a year

    Pros

At the high level, the RBM messaging seems logical and makes good sense. The challenge is when you dig a bit deeper under the cover, there is a lot of wiggle room/lack of clarity. Great marketing machine - for the basics (web, dreamforce, etc.). Great party at DreamForce. Subsribed is a strong event for demand generation.

    Cons

Focused on the sales side....a very grinding culture with no true leadership. A lot of management and status reports with little to no value. No financial models of how the customers business is impacted by using Zuora. The product has a lot of maturing to do. If prospect is NOT using SFDC, your chances of winning just dropped 90%.....perfect fit for small business, challenges about in larger companies as so many...

    Advice to Management

Focus on building a platform - with true integration not customization for everything. Make customers happy. Match 401k. Stop hiring sales people/splitting patches until the market matures and the solution is rock solid.

I worked at Zuora full-time for less than a year

    Pros

On the face of it, compensation is good, but like another reviewer pointed out, maximizing your variable is another story.

    Cons

I was here a short time but in that period I had two large deals fall through because the prospect did back door references and were told to stay away from Zuora. One customer said it was the worst purchasing decision they ever made in their career. And as others have pointed out, many of these positive reviews seem planted. I was asked by HR to write a review when I'd been there only a few weeks. They provided...
