I have been working at Zuora full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - If you want to do something new that has never been done before, and you aligned your project to company vision and priorities, you will not only get approval, you will be empowered. And better yet, recognized and celebrated for taking initiative.
     - Our new HQ in San Mateo is state-of-the-art and truly collaborative environment.
     - We have the best company social events and parties. They aren't hosted or organized by HR as most traditional companies practice. So Zuora parties tend to be very unfiltered, fun, and engaging.
     - Unlimited CalTrain pass for San Mateo employees and free electric car charging stations.
     - Able to work from home and stay productive with great collaborative platforms (gmail, blue jeans, box, etc.)
     - Free snacks and good drinks in the offices.

    Cons

    - No 401K match
     - Our new HQ doesn't have a cafeteria, so we have to walk 15 minutes to get to the closest restaurant. New restaurants will be moving in our area later this year but right now, no convenient way to quickly grab lunch.

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen and empathize with your employees. One red flag is that leaders consistently say to do more with less resources. We understand the circumstances and what it may take to become a public company, but that's not the most inspiring message nor is it sustainable for the long-term. We have such a great culture with amazing teams, I just hope none of us burns out.

    Pros

Great opportunity to be part of a team that has one mission - to change the way businesses grow and be a game changer in the marketplace we pioneered. Everyone at Zuora is focused on delivering high quality to our customers.

    Cons

Some people are not invigorated by an environment that has to be built - but for me I love the challenge and opportunity to contribute and influence how the company will operate.

    Advice to Management

Keep communicating the vision and progress of our growth trajectory. We have high caliber people, keep focused on bringing in the best employees.

I have been working at Zuora full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

World class sales organization that collaborates well with marketing, finance, product and engineering. The company is fully behind you to make you successful. Sales management has an "all in" approach to getting deals done. The culture is very close knit with a "work hard" "play hard" mentality. The comp plans are aggressive and lucrative as any SaaS company in the Bay Area.

    Cons

Commute to Redwood Shores is not the greatest - need to open an office San Francisco.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest heavily in sales and marketing - as we have established ourselves as the market leader in SaaS billing, finance and commerce. It's time to sprint to 100M revenue and get ready for a successful IPO!

I have been working at Zuora full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fast growing company with an industry leading product. The SDR team is tight knit and a great group.

    Cons

It's a late-stage start up company so training for new hires is a recent development but not what you would find at an enterprise company...this could be a pro or con depending on who you are.

I have been working at Zuora full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Late-stage startup is a respected company with great buzz in the industry (driven by top notch marketing team); Product is far superior to its competitors in the marketplace. Culture-wise, definitely fast paced with high expectations from mgmt; young crowd with great energy in the office everyday. Recently opened small office in SF.

    Cons

Typical growing pains - build out training and on-boarding for new hires without diluting the company's culture.

    Advice to Management

Continue acting like we're a young startup -- try new things, give product teams the room to address gaps, let teams problem solve and run with an idea.

I have been working at Zuora full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Cross functional teams throughout the organization form by themselves to come together to solve short-term customer issues as well as building out some great new features. Really feels like a startup of the old days, where the problems are the right kind of have in a growing company: Customers using the product and demanding more. There is also a sense of we are making a difference in now companies thrive in the subscription economy. I also have been introduced to some great business and consumer products since being here.

    Cons

This is a startup and we while we celebrate our successes we need to keep moving foward.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the flexible, fun work environment.

    Pros

Huge opportunity to contribute to the high-growth company with sophisticated technology going after an emerging market.
Clear market leader with dominant position in subscription billing space
Feels great to know your individual contributions matter and have an immediate impact.
Sr. management is active, hand's-on and very accessible
Fun, vibrant atmosphere with passionate, deeply invested employees

    Cons

Always-on culture makes it tough to break-free
Pace of growth & constant change makes it tough to focus
Need to enable better tools and technology to help scale

    Advice to Management

Let down the guard and be more accessible socially
Stay focused on bringing on A players
