I have been working at Zuora full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Amazing employee (ZEO) focused company with a powerful inclusive culture that supports success for everyone. A great CEO and leadership team. An exciting growing business

    Cons

A little crazy and unstructured at times. Leaders who are scaling into big roles because of the rapid growth but few big issues

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you’re doing but focus more on growing your leaders, more accountability in the Sales area.

I have been working at Zuora full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Rather than saying technology oriented company, its better to say Product based company where business and functional aspects are learning experiences in Zuora

    Cons

    1. Product NOT aligned with technology hence technically NO growth 2. Worst management as they wont give value to your experience and for sure there is NO scope to implement previous experience( technology side) 3. In the name of APIs, management is recruiting Java resources where there is NO scope for code/DB exposure 4. Worst working culture as management supports to employees who speaks about sensitive/personal...

    Advice to Management

HR should interact with employee and understand the problems rather giving entire control to managers. Giving entire control to managers is leading to unprofessional behavior by mangers and mangers are behaving according to their mindset and focing only for few of resources with whom they are comfortable with rather than focusing on entire TEAM.

I have been working at Zuora full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Love the leadership team and their dedicated focus on the business and the best strategy to create a great customer experience. There are very smart and collaborative people throughout the organization. The company is very inclusive and allows me to be me.

    Cons

Organizationally we are maturing into a larger organization so at times there are some operational growing pains (but I have seen that everywhere)

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

I worked at Zuora full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Culturally, Zuora is an amazing place. There are a lot of great people that work here and everyone is very helpful. Fun outings. Good food. Work hard, but know promotion comes from politics. Sales Enablement is great. BDR managers want you to succeed and really work hard to help you do so. Marketing is strong, but stop with all the 'gift' campaigns- it's ruining the tactics that make people know how to actually sell.

    Cons

If you aren't located in the San Francisco (or San Mateo) office, then you get shafted (Boston). Less perks, including fitness benefits, outings, and it's mostly used for the BDR team. Field reps, SE's and marketing are the only orgs that don't always come in, so it sometimes seems like a ghost town. This sucks when it comes to morale. Headcount is a myth. It's really sad when people can't move around internally because...

I have been working at Zuora full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some interesting development and technology work, and a number of very intelligent and dedicated people remain. I've learned a lot from some amazing developers. There is a degree of freedom to choose language and technologies when building a service. The location is convenient for commuting by train. Health benefits are okay, average. Team scrums are productive and maintain good cohesion at the team level, but...

    Cons

The wrong people are in some executive leadership positions, and significantly overcompensated relative to their effectiveness or ability to lead. Real and true leadership does not exist in key places. There are poor leaders and jerks in high places and they will continue to cause people to leave. Employees who are leaving are not quitting Zuora, they are quitting bad leaders and low-eq personalities. No 401K...

    Advice to Management

To break the cycle and gain real momentum, make senior leadership changes beyond Sales. Bring in fresh minds and experience. Find and hire some inspiring and capable leaders, Tien. It's time for new blood and new thinking and new energy. Find a seasoned cloud or SaaS CTO or SVP to bring a real vision beyond talking points, that will align and excite teams. 2 hour monthly coding or service deep dives aren't that....

    Pros

Flexible working hours, potential for growth

    Cons

Unfair appraisal process, below industry avg compensation, pressure to meet unrealistic deadlines. Would have given less than 3 stars, but still have a glimmer of hope that things can turn around.

I worked at Zuora full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You learn everyday. This place deserves 3 stars because it used to be great and could be again, but it's going the wrong way.

    Cons

Career opportunities are drying up, likely because the company is moving up market. Comp plans are below market, especially for the difficult nature of the product. ZEO Culture is not a reality anymore.

    Advice to Management

Stop overpromising and underdelivering. Zuora is so far away from delivering on its sky-high Subscription Economy promises and unfortunately, Wall Street is punishing shareholders for it. You need new Product leadership immediately. The people there now aren't delivering the sellable add-ons and the Zuora/RevPro integration. You need both for the sales team to hit their numbers. If you don't have the resources to...
