People are mostly friendly and great to work with. Organization structure leaves a lot to be desired
Jul 24, 2020 - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
COVID response was tremendous. No firing but compensation freeze only BLM feedback and initiatives was instantaneous. CEO was one of the first CEOs to recognize it and speak out about it. People are friendly and generally great to work with Leader in the subscription billing category so there will always be business Worklife balance is great, there is not much stress if you want to be average. Company does not require you to go to office. Office itself is nice especially the new Redwood City location.
Cons
Organization structure have a lot of duplicate roles. Some people are doing the things they are not supposed to do because there is no clear guideline. There is also no clear career path. Zuora has hard time retaining great talent. Leftovers are either not motivated enough to find another job or they do not have the skillset to do so. Product management although has improved because of new leadership but product roadmap is still unclear. Core part of the products is great but the add-ons are not mature Quite a bit of churn issue in their customer base. Over promise in the sales cycle which leads to unmet expectation

Weak leadership has ruined a rising star in Silicon Valley
Apr 20, 2016 - Field SalesRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Aligned to a market shift (in theory) Better product than most competitors in a relatively differentiated segment Trendy colors and sayings like "happy business" make you feel excited about the possibilities
Cons
Poor alignment between vision for RBM and actual product capabilities. The company is continually fooling itself into thinking it has created an entire segment - this is NOT the next salesforce Lack of strategic or emotional intelligence across leadership team, which is short-sighted and reactive in terms of deal strategy and overall business planning Deployed the same broken GTM model this year as last with fancy new names..same leaders who have failed to fix orgs like sales dev for 2 years are allowed to run the same playbook they already tried in the past Toxic culture in sales org due to majority of people being misled when recruited and missing quota - scapegoating, poaching, and general negativity Lack of genuine company culture - forced attempts to "have fun together" are pathetically depressing Poor career path definition, and comp structure weighted to rewarding leadership regardless of their performance. Tenure and exec relationships insulate incapable leaders who continue to rise despite failure Continually extending (and seemingly infinite) path to IPO Weak partnership strategy, esp related to GSI's and salesforce (despite executive team's pedigree)

Pros
- Nice office space - Great friendly colleagues
Cons
- Senior Leaders are lacking vision and execution - ZEO promise is just a propaganda where most peoples don't have any visible career path and management doesn't really care about their professional growth - No work life balance or company culture

Out of Touch Management
Nov 8, 2012 - Product Team Member in Redwood City, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-- Brilliant (but not exactly defensible) subscription-billing vendor business model -- Exciting, fast paced -- Good comp
Cons
-- Beta software regularly shipped to production -- High turnover, lack of career path focus -- Core values defined from the bottom-up but then mysteriously abandoned -- Some senior management has out-stayed their usefulness

Very good company
Sep 30, 2021 - Business Development Representative in ParisRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Very caring with employees, amazing benefits such as 200 euro work from home allowance, career cash, stock options, very friendly atmosphere. Overall a great place to work. They train you very well.
Cons
Not always a career path for BDRs, and the upper management in the EMEA BDR team is not the best.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
Good business model - Subscription economy is on it's way to replace the traditional transaction business model. Zuora has defined good business model on top of it. Great product with vision - Product is built to cover entire business flow with the integration of many eco systems. Leading company in industry - Zuora is the leading company for the subscription economy so far
Cons
Lack of employee benefit - Fast growth with poor employee benefit development. No proper promotion plans for employee. No clear employee career path - Resources are not aligned to proper positions.
