Pros
- Zuora is a great company with people who care about what they do and who are experts at it. - This company truly understands subscriptions. - Great brand and awareness, especially in the tech sector. - Strong customer culture. Everyone is learning from their amazing customers.
Cons
- Their TAM limited as there only are so many subscription companies to go after. - Very competitive space. - The stock has been depressed for years.

Pros
Incredible company to work for. Worked for the finance team for 2 months- everyone was supportive and willing to help. The work was very meaningful and my supervisor provided me with direction and assistance, as well as challenged me to learn myself. Company culture is honestly so unique and wonderful. People work hard but also take time to make Zuora a fun place to work. The internship program was one of my favorite parts. Zuora organized panels for interns to employees about recruitment/ graduate school/ how to get a job offer. Everyone there is so enthusiastic about giving advice and helping interns through their journey, regardless of whether or not they end up at Zuora. Snacks are also bomb.
Cons
I feel like working for the San Mateo office (HQ) gave me the best experience. In terms of other locations, I feel like it is harder to get involved in company events and intern events.

Pros
Aligned to a market shift (in theory) Better product than most competitors in a relatively differentiated segment Trendy colors and sayings like "happy business" make you feel excited about the possibilities
Cons
Poor alignment between vision for RBM and actual product capabilities. The company is continually fooling itself into thinking it has created an entire segment - this is NOT the next salesforce Lack of strategic or emotional intelligence across leadership team, which is short-sighted and reactive in terms of deal strategy and overall business planning Deployed the same broken GTM model this year as last with fancy new names..same leaders who have failed to fix orgs like sales dev for 2 years are allowed to run the same playbook they already tried in the past Toxic culture in sales org due to majority of people being misled when recruited and missing quota - scapegoating, poaching, and general negativity Lack of genuine company culture - forced attempts to 'have fun together' are pathetically depressing Poor career path definition, and comp structure weighted to rewarding leadership regardless of their performance. Tenure and exec relationships insulate incapable leaders who continue to rise despite failure Continually extending (and seemingly infinite) path to IPO Weak partnership strategy, esp related to GSI's and salesforce (despite executive team's pedigree)

Pros
Mostly nice people Product is great for the 1% of the market that need it
Cons
We are not run like a public company with a duty to its shareholders. CEO controls the voting rights and the company is run like a small business. A few of his favorites are promoted every year (regardless of their qualifications to do the job), most of the talented folks that aren't politicians are overlooked. No successful product development since the Leeyo acquisition/RevPro - and that took years to get right. Product team is focused on releasing a few (mostly free of charge) features that do nothing for our numbers. CEO and leadership have run out of ideas, we need to be acquired and he should retire.

Pros
Zuora is full of smart, motivated, and energetic people who are always willing to help each other out. Company is trying to double the headcount in the next year, so there is definitely room to grow into new roles and take on additional responsibilities. CEO and other executives are incredibly bright and visionary people - it's great to learn from individuals like this. The products we sell are industry agnostic, so we have the opportunity to work with clients from a wide variety of industries and learn about their businesses. New hire on boarding was thorough and impressive - we met representatives from every department and had a chance to understand their roles relative to the overall company. Much better experience than other companies that I have worked for. Company definitely puts effort into making Zuora a fun place to work, such as offering free food, hosting department-wide and company-wide social events, and promoting a positive team atmosphere.
Cons
As expected with a young and small company, there are some growing pains that we are working through with respect to internal tools, processes, etc. No 401K match, which is a bummer, but hopefully that will change soon.

People are mostly friendly and great to work with. Organization structure leaves a lot to be desired
Anonymous EmployeeFormer Employee, more than 1 yearSan Francisco, CAPros
COVID response was tremendous. No firing but compensation freeze only BLM feedback and initiatives was instantaneous. CEO was one of the first CEOs to recognize it and speak out about it. People are friendly and generally great to work with Leader in the subscription billing category so there will always be business Worklife balance is great, there is not much stress if you want to be average. Company does not require you to go to office. Office itself is nice especially the new Redwood City location.
Cons
Organization structure have a lot of duplicate roles. Some people are doing the things they are not supposed to do because there is no clear guideline. There is also no clear career path. Zuora has hard time retaining great talent. Leftovers are either not motivated enough to find another job or they do not have the skillset to do so. Product management although has improved because of new leadership but product roadmap is still unclear. Core part of the products is great but the add-ons are not mature Quite a bit of churn issue in their customer base. Over promise in the sales cycle which leads to unmet expectation

Pros
*Parental leave for 6 months full pay *Car allowance *Pension *Bonus percentage based on yearly salary varies between the rank from 17-23% *Shares *great salary *wellness days and new year shut down Working with lots of talented people and good culture. It’s a great place to work. Innovative product.
Cons
Complex product. Delivery team is very lean makes it very stressful. Project work is hard to balance with work/life when we have too many assignments. The role does not just do solutions we work with development, project management, pre sales and more.
Zuora Response7mo
Thanks for sharing your feedback with us and for your contributions to Zuora, especially navigating the complex work that we do and the collaboration it takes to get it done. In line with our company strategy, we will continue to focus on prioritization. Thanks again!
