I have been working at Zuora full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    - Zuora hires really smart people. That is part of the hiring profile. Because of this, you are surrounded by people that can actually teach your something and grow. - Great culture in the Boston office. Zuora has several offices in the US (4). I really enjoy the Boston offices culture which makes it a joy to go to every day. - Good benefits and 15 days of PTO is great. - For the SDR role specifically, this role...

    Cons

    - It can be hard to move up the sales ladder here. Little to no spots open up on the commercial sales team so the SDR team has little opportunity to advance in sales. (which is what most SDR's would like to do) - The spread out offices means that you might get little to no face time with the executives in the company.

    Advice to Management

    - You hire talented people into the SDR role, give them somewhere to go naturally. Not promoting a single SDR to AE in a calendar year when you had candidates that were more than capable of doing the job is leading to the SDR's to have little motivation or passion for the company.

I worked at Zuora full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Very skilled and experienced sales management team on the East Coast. Sales enablement team does a good job able coaching reps to sell the product. High degree of exposure to SaaS businesses is a huge plus if you are new to the space. The CEO is a great product centric leader.

    Cons

I will echo many of the reviews already on Glassdoor. The senior sales team is sub-par at best with very little understanding of how to run and grow a 500+ organization. The organization needs to remove many of these "leaders" for more tenured hires who can provide a path for the sales team to follow. Marketing needs a lot of help, not...

    Advice to Management

Expand the product capabilities and have this be the CEO's focus. If the company isn't able to capture the entirety of the subscription market Zuora will boom and bust as a 500 to 700 person company forever.

I worked at Zuora full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Structure being added to this place to better communication, which is desperately needed. A bond exists within teams because it is needed due to lack of leadership / structure. I loved the connection that our junior level team had when we had to bond together to survive some tough projects.

    Cons

I agree with a former post that this place is overrated. I also agree that the leadership structure is extremely top down and communication often gets lost in the mix. Leadership is so distant that it almost feels non-existent. I reported to a manager who worked from home on the east coast and was often too busy to return my emails so it was extremely difficult to get things done. The general consensus around the company...

    Advice to Management

Leadership need to establish themselves with the field. It is difficult to grow in an environment where your accomplishments are bypassed and mistakes are highlighted. I understand that Zuora wants to hire established leaders in the tech field but I feel as though they need more leaders who are literally closer, and more involved with the people they manage to facilitate growth.

    Pros

Fairly transparent organization. Some very capable and smart folks in every department, all levels Competitive comp (BUT, maximizing your variable is another story) Communication is open and one is encouraged to work cross functionally. The sales team is in fact highly regarded within the organization and Zuora is known to groom strong sales talent. Sales has access to resources and there is a team selling environment...

Very difficult place to work and everyone knows it. The following will sound exaggerated and coming from a disgruntled employee but sadly, it's neither. First off, all the recent 5 star reviews are written by a) those who have been here since Feb’14 who Mgmt asked to review because they don’t know any better or b) Senior management who are having trouble recruiting The most tenured reps on the Enterprise/SMB/Mid-Market/SDR...

    Advice to Management

Execs: We have some very smart people but not very many "people" people making smart decisions. Understand that you've not figured out how to scale the sales team. Doing more of what you have been doing is obviously not going to work so a serious reevaluation is needed. Discourage an aggressive, machismo culture. You will not get the true feedback explicitly so try to get a real ear to the ground because without...

I have been working at Zuora full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

lots of industry buzz, everyone on the outside thinks it's a cool company

    Cons

--unmanageable workloads, unsupportive managers, backstabbing culture, no work/life balance, sales team is like a fraternity --employees who came from SFDC think they are better/smarter than everyone else

    Advice to Management

be supportive of your team members; recognize contributions; get rid of your "elite circles", say "hello" to your employees when you walk by; address undermining, uncollaborative behavior of your employees ; stop making unreasonable demands or burnout is inevitable

I have been working at Zuora full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Zuora is recognized as the premier provider of the new category of Relationship Business Management - which goes beyond subscription / recurring revenue billing systems and instead covers the total ambit of commerce, billing and finance. As part of the Sales team, I get to working with a C level executives in a wide range of businesses across a vast number of industries - all of whom are changing how they sell and...

    Cons

Like any rapidly expanding company, there are growth pains as we move to different regions and verticals. Internal systems can take time to get in place and it can sometimes be hard to know who is who. Culture, especially in the Sales team, can be a little aggressive at times.

    Advice to Management

More all-hand town-halls and better two way communication. Put a bit more effort into creating an even more supportive and inclusive culture. Otherewise, keep up the good work.

I can't think of anything positive about this place.

    Cons
