    Pros

They have a pension - rare these days.

    Cons

They outsource all of their IT, making it inefficient, costly, and cumbersome. Systems/applications are terribly un-integrated.
(we were recently "acquired", my position will soon be eliminated)

    Advice to Management

There's always a better way to do things, be open to considering it.

I have been working at Zurich North America full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good company, conservative nice work environment

    Cons

Constantly changing, North America leadership is questionable, health benefits average at best

    Advice to Management

Management is taking steps to correct, too many layers at the upper management level, need to rework team based work approach, handcuff underwriters from making good decisions, writing too much unprofitable business, letting good accounts slip away due to rating and pricing issues. Computer systems are horribly inefficient.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Zurich North America full-time

    Pros

Financial strength, great breadth of products, many good people who want to do the right thing

    Cons

Executive management are driving a strategy nobody believes in. Upward communication is zero. Nobody wants to hear the truth about why things like TBW are not working. This leaves the best people disengaged and not empowered.

    Advice to Management

Executive leadership needs to change at Zurich NA. Eight years of poor results should show clearly where the real leadership problem lies.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Due to downsizing, closing of offices, and layoffs, not to mentions condensing you can work from home 2 days a week.

    Cons

Poor management. This the only place where there is no employee engagement, encouragement for growth as an employee. All that management cares about are themselves. Every level they only care about them this place will remind you that you are nothing but a number. Turnover is out of control AVP's have left in the past 6 months. And employees as well the turnover rate here is higher then the national average and they do not care.

    Advice to Management

Place the current managers back at a desk and get experienced managers.
