I worked at Zynga full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In aggressive turnaround focused on changing some core company practices that hindered growth and progress. Lots of opportunity to learn from extremely smart people while working on projects with strong technical strength.

    Cons

Almost complete lack of long-term vision. Perception from the inside is that this vision is in flux, and such job and project stability are thin at best. Also, personality-driven politics pervades the culture.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent. Create a vision and execute on it.

I worked at Zynga as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really fun office with free blue bottle cafe and a lazier tunnel when you first walk in. Always felt inspired there.
I loved my team so much and stayed friends with many of them.
Having Zynga on my resume gave me a kind of respect and prestige at other companies that endures to this day. This is funny because I've gained more valuable skills from other places but people just want to think of me as "the guy from Zynga." Fine with me. I'm not complaining.

    Cons

Really thrashy environment when I was there (4 years ago) almost everything I worked in got shelved which is sad because of my secret products was so cool. But ultimately working there opened some awesome doors for me else where.

I worked at Zynga full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with, fun environment, relaxed atmosphere, good benefits.

    Cons

With the newest CEO coming in (from EA no less) I felt the company was becoming more geared toward making money at the expense of their employees. Benefits and bonuses were being cut and several of my coworkers were laid-off as a result.
