    Pros

Enjoy what I do on a day to day basis. Learning a lot. Friendly and welcoming people. Professional, amicable, low-ego, low-politics, low-drama workplace. They feed me delicious lunch every day. Plus... free coffee bar!!

    Cons

Zynga has much untapped potential and tends to be overlooked / disregarded / not taken seriously.

    Pros

Great atmosphere and surroundings. Work/life balance is great nowadays, with many opportunities to just kick-back and enjoy hanging out with your coworkers.

    Cons

Leadership could use a little growing.

    Advice to Management

Treat/hire employees well based on their talents and hard work, not based on if they know the right people or yell the loudest.

I have been working at Zynga full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Austin office of Zynga is an engaging, fun environment to work in. The office has had its challenges in the past, but the current and previous management has worked really hard to make this an awesome place to work.

    Cons

Corporate game studios often deal with too many meetings as they grow larger and larger, and middle management struggles to wrap their hands around what such a large team is doing. Zynga Austin is no exception.

    Advice to Management

Work to cut down the meetings. Managers, engage more with specific employees to keep them out of simple status meetings.

I have been working at Zynga full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Skilled team members, great people, fantastic benefits, enjoyable work, good food, enthusiastic crew. Most enjoyable environment I've worked in in 20 years. Keep it up.

    Cons

It's all about the attitude here. Meaning, it's pretty much what you make of it. Opportunities are abound, performance gets noticed, for the most part and wages/benefits are top notch.

    Advice to Management

More hackathons, employee events like art jams, game jams, etc. time for employees to work on personal projects that may be incorporated into company efforts, set aside time for exploration of new tech for those interested, keep doing most of what is currently being done. Mangers are great to work for and company stock helps keep me invested in what I'm creating. Overall, things are looking good.

I have been working at Zynga full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Whether you are interested in games (as an engineer, artist, product manager or designer) in mobile apps and web, or applying social networking skills, running services in very large scale, or being a data scientist or analyst, Zynga has something for you.

Work/life balance is great nowadays, with many opportunities to just kick-back and enjoy hanging out with your coworkers.

Every day is "Bring your dog to work" day. Benefits are super good.

While this review is for the San Francisco head quarters where I work, other Zynga locations in Austin TX, San Diego CA, Eugene OR, Chicago IL enjoy the same level of goodness.

    Cons

The only con of working at Zynga HQ is the general problem of high-cost of living in "the bay area." However, Zynga HQ has 3 meals a day and snacks (both healthy and not-so healthy) and an on-site Gym to help alleviate some of that hardship.

I have been working at Zynga full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - After the Austin studio got kicked around pretty badly for a few years, it found its footing and became a healthy, stable place to work.
    - You get free lunches every day.
-The benefits package is excellent, and the compensation is very competitive.
    - They absolutely recognize good work from employees at every level, with employee of the month awards and hero of the week call outs.
-There are ample opportunities for career growth, from moving up into the ranks to switching disciplines altogether.
    - The culture is like working in a big happy family. There are multiple team building events and the different disciplines work closely together to make the best products they can.

    Cons

    - Dealing with the rest of Zynga is still a pretty negative experience. If you can ignore the stock price or what's going on in the company at large, then it's not an issue.
    - When faced with a looming launch deadline, you will be expected to crunch. It's not nearly as bad as a AAA game studio, and after a launch the pace of a game slows dramatically, but there will be a few months where to work/life balance takes a hit.

    Advice to Management

Keep the studio agile and manageable and it will be great forever!

    Pros

Why you should want to work at Zynga:

    1. Startup culture with job stability
    2. Great Work/Life Balance - overtime is rare.
    3. Well defined career tracks for all disciplines
    4. Competitive compensation and benefits
    5. Your work will reach millions of users
    6. Work with industry veterans - did you know the game designer for NBA Jam is a game designer at Zynga.

    Cons

    1. You won't get the equity you would get at a startup. However, I've worked for 2 startups that were bought and can say that the only people getting rich from startups are the investors.
    2. You won't be working at a AAA game title producing company that will lay you off once your game ships.
